I have been trying to find information about my great grand father, Ernst Johann Wilhelm Kruger, father was Herrman KRÜGER (born in Holland I believe), mother probably Maria Liefke. Ernst was born 31 December 1876 Schulzwenwerder, Brandenburg, Pruessen. The only info I found on the web was an entry submitted to LDS Church in 1942. The Kruger has the umlatt above the U . Ernst went by the name of Wilhelm and left home at 16 year of age. His marriage certificate refers to Gottenhimm Germany. Someone referred me to the Neumark-L database at http://db.genealogy.net/ but I couldn’t get on it. I believe he came from a large family. He did go to Africa at some stage and work as a miner. If anyone knows how I can find information on South African miners I'd also appreciate that.He left home at the age of 16. Arrived in Australia either 1896 or 1906 but I cannot verify this. That’s about all I have. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
