Classification: Obituary Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/TZo.2ACIB/235 Message Board Post: KRUGER, JACK February 2, 1913 to March 3, 2003 Born in Kulm, North Dakota, Jack came to San Diego in 1933 after joining the U.S. Navy where he served 5 years in the submarine service. He then worked in the Post Office for 30 years, where he retired in 1968 as supervisor of the Pacific Beach Post Office. He was an accomplished golfer and a member of the Stardust Country Club. When 18 holes on a regular course became too strenuous, he played the 9-hole Balboa Park Course until almost the end of his life. He was known to all as a kind, generous, humorous man. He was a member of Elks Lodge 1812 in El Cajon and past president of Pacific Beach Lions Club. He and Dorothy, his wife, made their home in Kensington. Besides his wife, Dorothy, he is survived by his daughter-in-law, Diane Kruger of Mt. Vernon, Wa.; two grandchildren, Victoria Mitchell and Eric Kruger, and one great-granddaughter Lauren Mitchell. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 15, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. in the! third floor Solarium at Wesley Palms, 2404 Loring St, San Diego. Published in the San Diego Union-Tribune on 3/12/2003.
