Moin, I would like to have a roll call on your Kruger lines. Mine came from Eastern Prussia to the Wilhelmshaven area in Northern Germany. My grandmother came to America in 1909, Antonie Wilhelmina Marie Kruger Meyer. She was in Ogle Co., IL and Winnebago Co., IL. Her brother, August, came about 1915. He visited my grandmother and the family never heard from him again. He never returned to Germany and at one time was believed to be a meat cutter, butcher or maybe worked in the slaughter houses in Chicago and it was also rumored that he went to IA. My g grandfather, Gottfried Eduard Kruger had a sister, Wilhelmina Kruger that was born in Eastern Prussia and I cannot find any records on her nor my gg grandparents. My mail server went down last week and I have not been getting my email. The server has been fixed but a lot of messages seemed to have gone astray. Then I had a pop lock on my email as when it started filtering in my mail box was overloaded so to remove the pop lock they had to delete a lot of my messages. She was born February 15, 1770 in Jassow, a daughter of the farmer Joachim Bartelt & Marie Radloff. She married October 20, 1797 with Johann Gottfried Kruger, the second son of the late Hans Kruger of Scharchow. Her brother died from a fall that he suffered and therefore she and her husband got the farm. They bought a piece of farm that lay east of the farm in 1915, which farm is now in the hands of Paul Bartelt. Katharina Bartelt died on November 29, 1832 from hemmorhage. She left to mourn her; her husband, 3 grown sons all born in Jassow: Johann Gottfried Kruger-born September 7, 1798, Anna Sophia-born December 5, 1799, Johann Kruger-born September 8, 1801, Michael Gottlieb-born July 23, 1803.

This was sent to me by Diane on one of my lists and it might work and it sure won't hurt to try it. Trick your address book! Who among us doesn't know someone who has experienced the embarrassment of unknowingly spreading a computer virus via their email address book? It's time to STOP this from happening by TAKING CONTROL of your email program! For those who are unaware, many computer viruses spread themselves by sending themselves to everyone in your address book. Imagine how you would feel if you were unknowingly infected with a computer virus, and worse yet, your friends, family, and business contacts were being targeted by your computer! Well, if you want to avoid this sort of thing, here's a great tip: This tip won't prevent YOU from getting any viruses (you have to scan those attachments yourself before opening them to do that), but it will stop those viruses from latching onto your address book and sending itself out to others. To avoid spreading computer viruses, create a contact in your email address book with the name : !0000 with no email address in the details (using this puts it at the top of your contact list in your address book). This contact will then show up as your first contact. If a virus attempts to do a "send all" on your contact list, your PC will put up an error message saying that: "The Message could not be sent. One or more recipients do not have an e-mail address. Please check your Address Book and make sure all the recipients have a valid e-mail address." You click on OK and the offending (virus) message would not have been sent to anyone. Of course no changes have been made to your original contacts list. The offending (virus) message may then be automatically stored in your "Drafts" or "Outbox" folder. Go in there and delete the offending message. Problem is solved and virus is not spread. Try this and pass on to your email contacts. The more people that use this technique, the less vulnerable we will be to viruses that spread in this manner! I also noted that it asks you for a name when you add the new contact so I put in !0000 again and Outlook Express took it as a new contact. Gail Meÿer Kilgore List Hostess Casa Grande, AZ

As many of you have already found out, there is a new virus out there and it is spreading like a raging fire. Do not open any attachments!!! On my computer it pops up right away to open the attachment. The message area of the email is blank. It is attaching itself to everyone in the address book and sending the virus to them. Rootsweb is virus free but if your name is in address book of a person who uses a rootsweb web mail list it will attach itself to that list. Please, Please be careful opening attachments. I have had at least ten of these since last night. DO NOT OPEN ANY ATTACHMENTS!!! Spare yourself the grief of infecting yourself with this nasty virus!! Upgrade your virus programs immediately. My cousins and I took a trip to Burton, TX last week and found our grandmother's christening record. YEA!! There had been some question as to her real name. It is listed on her christening record as Wilhelmine Emilie Martha Bethke. And she was born October 7, 1881, not the 6th as on her headstone. It lists Ludwig Bethke and Pauline Bethke as her parents. She was christened on Dec. 24, 1882 by E. Huber. Her sponsers were Wilhelmine Bethke, Emilie Gloff, Gottlieb Bethke, and Otto Rosenstreter (I think this probably should be Rosentreter). What a great find! You can imagine our excitement. Tricia
