    3. Fred Kruger must be a popular name. My great grandfather's brother was a Fred Kruger. He lived in NJ and died in the 1920's. Unfortunately, his death certificate gave no parents' names. 2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: KRÜGER, Liefke Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/TZo.2ACIB/257 Message Board Post: I would be interested in some help. I have been trying to find information about my great grand father, Ernst Johann Wilhelm Kruger, father was Herrman KRÜGER (born in Holland I believe), mother probably Maria Liefke. Ernst was born 31 December 1876 Schulzwenwerder, Brandenburg, Pruessen. The only info I found on the web was an entry submitted to LDS Church in 1942. The Kruger has the umlatt above the U . Ernst went by the name of Wilhelm and left home at 16 year of age. His marriage certificate refers to Gottenhimm Germany. Someone referred me to the Neumark-L database at http://db.genealogy.net/ but I couldn’t get on it. I believe he came from a large family. He did go to Africa at some stage and work as a miner. If anyone knows how I can find information on South African miners I'd also appreciate that.He left home at the age of 16. Arrived in Australia either 1896 or 1906 but I cannot verify this. That’s about all I have. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    1. Y-DNA Result has been posted
    2. Audrey Shields Hancock
    3. Hello, All, Just wanted to let you know that I finally posted the results for our Y-DNA Participant #23433, and his DNA matches the line for Hans Ernst Krieger. However, his earliest known ancestor was Homer Crowder Creager, so he does not know how or if he decends from Hans Ernst Kreiger via his son, Johan Casper Krieger/Creager. It is believed he is descended from Hans, but as we know, brothers & cousins of Hans Ernst (if any) could also have had descendants who also immigrated to America. http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~grannyapple/CREAGER-KRIEGERetc%20DN A/CREAGER%20DNA%20HOME.html or access via: http://tinyurl.com/4cfky Click on RESULTS at the left in the green section. As of this time, we have no other participants awaiting any results. Audrey

    1. Help Sponsor Y-DNA Participant
    2. Audrey Shields Hancock
    3. Several Surname Projects have different sources of funding to help pay for some of their members' tests. I had not started that for any of the groups that I moderate. However, we now learn that FamilyTree DNA will help with that part. All you have to do is send check, money order, PayPal, or Credit Card information to: Family Tree DNA - Genealogy by Genetics, Ltd. 1919 North Loop West, Suite 110 Houston, Texas 77008 Then in a note or "memo" part of check, etc., include the Project Name and earmark it for the General Fund..."Creager-Krieger, etc. Project General Fund". Then perhaps we can help different branches become represented. Audrey

    3. Thank you for letting me know the situation. I will always check these out when you let me know. I don't always know why things won't work. As of this morning (Saturday), I was able to get both links to work. Just remember the longer URLs will have to be copied and pasted to your browser window when sent plain text (usually). Rootsweb only allows information to be sent via plain text. Also, sometimes when RootsWeb or other sites may not work, it may not be the fault of the URL or your computer, but due to maintenance by your service or site provider such as RootsWeb, Ancestry.com, Genealogy.com, Tiny URL, or other provider. Audrey -----Original Message----- From: Carol Krueger [mailto:cal@pbic.net] Sent: Friday, September 17, 2004 7:27 PM To: KRUGER-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [KRUGER] CREAGER-KRIEGER, etc. Project URL Change I can't get either URL to work?? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Audrey Shields Hancock" <AudreyShieldsHancock@att.net> To: <KRUGER-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, September 17, 2004 2:39 PM Subject: [KRUGER] CREAGER-KRIEGER, etc. Project URL Change UPDATE CHANGE of URL for our CREAGER/KRIEGER, etc. Y-DNA PROJECT including CRAGER, CREAGOR, CREEGER, CREGAR, CREGER, CREGGAR, CREGGER, CREGOR, CREIGER, CREIGHER, CRIGER, CRIGGER, CRUGAR, KREAGER, KREEGER, KREGEAR, KREIGER, KREIGER, KRIEGAR, KRÜGER, KRËGER, KRIJGER, KRUEGER, KRÖGER, KROEGER, KRYGER, and other variant spelling Please change the URL if you bookmarked the project site previously. To go to this site, you will have to copy and paste the URL all the way to include "___.html". When long URLs are sent via RootsWeb in plain text, they are truncated (cut off) at the end, therefore the hyperlink is not a workable hyperlink. http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~grannyapple/CREAGER-KRIEGERetc%20DN A/CREAGER%20DNA%20HOME.html Please change the URL if you bookmarked the project site previously. It appears that sometimes the Tiny URL does not always work. That has been changed also, and today for some reason the Tiny URL transfer link isn't working either. http://tinyurl.com/4cfky Sorry for the inconvenience. Audrey
