Kraemer was born to Mr. and Mrs. Otto Kraemer at Parker, S. D., June 23, 1886 and grew to manhood here. On May 25th, 1910 he was united in marriage to Pauline M. Geide. To this union 3 children were born. He engaged in farming and blacksmithing in this area until 1928, when the family moved to Wood, S. D., where he operated a blacksmith shop until August 1983, when they moved to a ranch at Nemo, where they resided since. He is survived by his wife, and a son, Luverne of Rapid City, a daughter, Mrs. A. L. (Virginia) Tonkyn of Diablo, Washington. Five grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren, two brothers, Gus and Otto of Parker, 3 sisters, Mrs. Louis Crann of Sioux Falls, Mrs. Felix Geide, Hartford; Mrs. Fred Seubert, Sioux Falls, and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Gertrude, his parents, 3 sisters, and one brother. He died of a heart attack in a Rapid City Hospital Tuesday, April 15, 1969. Funeral services were held April 18, at the First English Lutheran Church at Parker, S. D., with Rev. Keith Johnson officiating. Organist, Gwen Bovee: Singers, Mrs. James Bousfield, Mrs. Conrad Perkins, and Mrs. Arnold Pfieffer, who sang “What A Friend We Have In Jesus” and “God Be With You Till We Meet Again.” Congregation hymn, “I Know That My Redeemer Lives.” Casket bearers were Rex Kraemer, Max Kraemer, Daryl Kraemer, Lee Roy Kraemer, Earl Geide, and Arnold Ideker. Clause Bovee served as usher. Interment made in Wellington Lutheran Cemetery with Hofmeister’s Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
