M. KRAEMER OF SANTA ANA MADE DEFENDANT Special to The Herald. SANTA ANA, Aug. 8. - Edward M. Kraemer, who figured recently in a sensational divorce suit and later was cited to appear and answer a charge of contempt of court for non-payment of alimony, is made defendant in a suit for foreclosure filed by George W. Minter to secure a loan of $5000 and an additional $300 claimed to have been advanced on a ranch owned by Kraemer in Placentia. Los Angeles Herald, August 9, 1902. ============================== (ORANGE COUNTY) FULLERTON FACTS Kramer Family Troubles to Be Aired in Court FULLERTON, Aug. 22.-Papers have I been filed a damage suit by Ed Kraemer against P. A. Schumacher. Kraemer charges that Schumacher has alienated the affections of Mrs. Kreamer. Schumacher is Mrs. Kraemer's father. Kraemer has also had his wife arrested on a charge of stealing $512. He also claims that Schumacher, as administrator of the late Mrs. Schumacher's estate, obtained possession of $31,000 that belonged to Mrs. Kreamer. Divorce proceedings have been instituted by Mrs. Kraemer and both suits are docketed for the coming session of the superior court. Los Angeles Herald, August 23, 1902. ============================== (ORANGE COUNTY) KRAEMER'S DIRE TROUBLE SUES HIS FATHER-IN-LAW FOR HEAVY DAMAGES Alleges That Defendant Alienated His Wife's Affections and Is at Present Holding Possession of His Children. SANTA ANA, Sept. 5.-The first round in a sensational suit in the superior court was fought today, in the case in which E. M. Kraemer of Placentia has invoked the aid of the law to recover $25,000 damages from his father-in-law, William Schumacher of Fullerton, who is alleged to have alienated Mrs. Kraemer's affections from her husband and caused her to leave him. Apart from this suit for damages Kraemer has tiled a petition for a writ of habeas corpus to put him in possession of his three children, who he alleges are unlawfully detained by his father-in-law. Schumacher, at whose home Mrs. Kraemer and the children have been staying since the separation of the former from her husband. To make the matter still more interesting, Mrs. Kraemer is suing her husband for divorce, and this case is also on trial this afternoon. Los Angeles Herald, September 6, 1902. ============================== Charles Klose. a witness for the defense in the Kraemer divorce case, failed to respond when his name was called yesterday and a bench warrant was issued. He was arrested and brought into court this afternoon.
