I've been scanning my obits and posting them to my website at http://www.genealogy4dummiesonline.com/obits/ There is an obit for a KRAEMER or the surname is mentioned in an obit, if anyone is interested. Anna

Hi, I finally found this census record and I believe it to be a family I have been searching for forever. We know that in the 1905 directory Matthew and his wife (married in 1902) and child lived on Lake Linden Avenue. 1900 - Houghton Co., Michigan (Florida Addition) {Lake Linden Ave} Kramer, August? - Head - b. June 1857 - age 42 - Widowed - b. Ger - Father b. Ger Mother b. Ger - Occupation: Locomotive (unreadable) - Owned home - Imm. 1878 - in US for 22 years - Naturalized. Kramer, Matthew - Son - b. May 1882 - age 18 - Single - b. MI - Occ. Mine Laborer Kramer, Leo - Son - b. Sept 1888 - age 11 - Single - b. MI - At School I am hoping that someone else may have looked into this particular family before and may have some input as to the elder Kramer's first name. "August" is a close approximation to the almost illegible handwriting. Appreciate any help! Nora

Hi, My name is Steve Cromer. This is what I have on Christian Kraemer/Kramer/Cramer: He appears in Montgomery County, New York in 1778, but I have no information about him before this. I know he was married to Margaret Krems/Gramps/Krembs on 18 Sep 1787 in the Stone Arabia Dutch Reformed Church, Stone Arabia, Montgomery County, New York. I am pretty sure that Margaret descends from the EMPIE family. I have no additional information on them, except that they had three children: Peter Cramer Born 14 Aug 1791 Palatine, New York Anna Cramer Born 26 Feb 1793 Christian Cramer Jr. Born 13 Nov 1789 Stone Arabia, New York Any additional information that anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated. I am especially interested in learning about Christian's parents and grandparents. I'm looking for information on my Kraemer family. The doors just opened a little wider for me and I'm hoping there are some other Kraemer's out there doing research on their family as well. My Grandma is the last of the Kraemer's along her line (we follow down through the Michael Kraemer line below). We were at a standstill with Jakob Kraemer in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin until we received some census information about the other children that they had. We do not know when they came to the U.S. from Germany, but we think it may have been around the late 1840's. We believe that they made a stop in Cincinnati, Ohio (due to census records) before moving on to Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. We do not know where they came from in Germany. Please let me know if you have links to my family. Hi Marvin, I am also related to the south Louisiana Kramers. My great grandmother was Louisa Kramer. She was born in 1833 in Bavaria. She came to the US around 1848-53. She married 1.) Kihnel then 2.) Fred Lemke. They lived on Willow Street in Franklin, LA. Her obit states that she came to America with a large family, perhaps brothers, sisters or cousins. I think she was originally Lutheran, but she attended the Episcopal church in Franklin. Do you have Louisa among your relatives? What is the story of the founding of Kraemer, LA? Kay
