Regarding Wyatt Kornegay: I don't know where I got this information, but I do have the wife of Wyatt Y. Kornegay as Mary Anna Dickson b. abt 1821 d. abt 1864. Their marriage is recorded as 1838 in North Carolina. Perhaps checking the marriage records for that year in the likely counties might turn up a license or something.
