Here's the text of the "murder story" from Ruth's link: I found a newspaper notice about Abram Kornegay in the Carolina Observer dated 2 Aug 1826. It stated that Abram Kornegay of Duplin County [NC] was murdered and Joseph Sollis was charged. The date of the murder was not given. In a 22 Dec 1825 NC newspaper there was a notice that Joseph Sollis of Duplin Co "Stands charged by a verdict of Inquest of wilful murder of Mr. Kornegay." A $300 reward had been offered for Sollis' apprehension by Bryan Kornegay and Henry Kornegay. A 9 May 1827 North Carolina Journal article stated that Joseph Sollis was executed for the Kornegay murder. He had been convicted 27 April 1827[?] in Superior Court, Duplin Co.
