Hi Ruth, My Simmons line is connected to John Simmons of Wake Co., NC & his wife, Dianah Herbert of VA. We have gone back 3 more generations to Norfolk Co., VA. This particular couple were born about 1710 give or take 10 years. That Simmons line first went to GA before showing up in MS too where it connected to our Duncan line, going to Sabine Co., LA, and then into San Augustine Co., TX by the late 1870s. Peggy Hill of *Prodigy is the biggest compiler of Simmons data in this country that I know and that most Simmons people contact her and get answers from because we have all been sending her info over the past 10 years. She has helped many, many people with their lines. She actually helped me find 9 more generations to my line which turned out to also be her husbands; that helped a lot. This is the Southern Simmons' lines. She has some info on the Northern Simmons lines, but not as much. She also has a vast amount of info on the VA, NC & GA Simmons families. Sue in CA
