    3. Patty et al, I will quote from Dr. Hervy Kornegay's papers. I understand that he and his mother had a genealogist to research these papers. "JOHN SIMMONS was one among the Palatines who planted the colony at New Bern in 1710 ." There is more information about John Simmons and the Simons family . Also stated that they came from the village of Buchs in German Speaking Switzerland. John was the son of Benedict Simon and his wife Katherine Schetele of the same village.
