    3. Sheila, I apologize for being so long in responding to this message. I found it in cleaning out my inbox this afternoon and am pretty sure I never answered. You're welcome to anything I have; however, my material (like me) is not very well organized so it may take a little time in my getting it to you. I have really had problems in finding much about the Keatons. I know that Lewis William, his brother Alhasarus, and the Alexander Keatons, Sr. and Jr. were all issued land patents near one another in Sumpter (now Choctaw) County, Alabama in March 1837. The 1840 Sumpter County census lists the households of L.W. Kornegay (including one male - 60 to 69 years old) and Alexander Keaton (Jr.), with household of Robert R. Keaton listed on the previous page. Could this be another son of Alexander Keaton, Sr.? I've found no records of Alhasarus Kornegay after the 1837 land patent and after the 1850 Census nothing on the Keatons. Again, I'm sorry about taking so long in getting back to you.
