In 1914 a group met in Kingston NC for the purpose of organizing an organization to trace the descendants of the Palatines who came with DeGraffenreid. They planned to issue certificates of membership and to erect a memorial to the Palentines of New Bern, the family names were to be placed on the memorial. They selected people to look up the linage of the following families. A geanealogist, Miss Sybil Hyatt was very interested in the project as was Senator F.M. Simmons and others.
