I am looking for the family Clarrisa Rouse and possibly George?? Kornegay. I can not seem to find them. I found her living by herself with four children on the Jones County, NC 1850 census. (Beaver Creek District page 137) dwelling 388, family 380 Clarrissa Kornegay age 26 - value of real estate 800 - birthplace NC John age 5 birthplace NC *********** Sarah age 4 birthplace NC James age 2 birthplace NC Joseph age 3/12 birthplace NC One family member said that John was John Ward Kornegay and James was James Polk Kornegay. They both were said to have fought in the Confederate Civil War. John W. Kornegay B 31 December 1843 possibly Jones County, NC married Eveline Branton ca 1860-1870, died 08 March 1909 in Dothan, AL buried Piney Grove, Houston County, AL. I can not seem to connect to what child of the first John George Kornegay she belongs to. Does any of these names sound familar to any one?
