    3. It is my understanding George KORNEGAY and George KOONCE were the only surviving children of the melee. They were held by the Indians for 3 months and then rescued by the newly formed militiamen. Jacob MILLER, a Swiss Schoolmaster and Justice of the Peace were their guardians til they reached majority. Thank you for sharing this information. If, by chance, anyone has the opportunity to read the 4 volumes of the VIRGINIA COMPANY BOOKS usually copies are in the State Archives Libraries. Much history will be gained from these books. A similiar massacre in Colonial Virginia happened and it listed the names of the people. The wording and spelling was much different in 1609-1624.
