I have uploaded 11 old Kornegay pictures to the Kornegay site created by Vicki Culpepper. I want to thank her for setting up the site. It has made distributing these pictures much easier. I placed the pictures in a folder that I named 'Huff Kornegay Pictures'. These pictures were found in an old trunk that belonged to Annie Elizabeth Kornegay, the daughter of David Smith Kornegay. David Smith migrated to Texas in 1830 and died in 1856 at the age of 46. He was a significant figure in Texas history and there is a brief biography on the jbquinn web site. I apologize for the quality of the photos. Most are from small pictures no larger than 1" in height. The only one that I feel fairly certain about the identity is the one label 'Edward Dawson Kornegay 1'. He was the only son of David Smith Kornegay. I have sent these pictures to other descendents of David Smith Kornegay to help in the identification. If anyone has an opinion please e-mail me. I believe that one of them is David Smith himself and one is his wife Brigette Lamb McGary. These pictures were probably taken around 1850. Other pictures of David Smith exist, one on the jbquinn web site. Other than the picture that I suspect is Brigett Lamb McGary I believe all the other photos are of Kornegays because of family resemblance to other Kornegay pictures. I have tenative identities from other family members and as I get more comfortable that these are correct I will update the information associated with the pictures. Enjoy. Benny
