    3. Gayle, Yes, over the last 18 months I have pursued evidence in the pre-1800 church records of Bern Canton for the Gna:gi/Kornegay hypothesis. Official Swiss records indicate the Gna:gi name existed in only 5 villages in the Bieler Seeland region of the Bern Canton. I am working my way through the birth and marriage records of those villages for any reference to a Hansju:rg Gna:gi born in the early 1670's. My fear my effort is somewhat speculative since the John George name for George I's father is based on the St. Catherines Palatine refugee list of 1709 with a reference to a John George Hornigh (38), with a wife, two sons, and two daughters. Does anyone know of any research to verify that reference is indeed to the "alpha" Kornegay family? I think it is wise to continue to pursue the Konig/Kornegay hypothesis in Germany as well. I have sent your friend Ralf an e-mail however I have heard nothing in response. Please keep posting any information you come across for all to enjoy.
