Well, I found my KORNEGAY SKETCH by A.T. OUTLAW he was register of Deeds for Duplin Co he said George FISHER KORNEGAY m. Sarah GLISSON. She died 1859. Children 1. Henry Roberts KORNEGAY. He was a minister, Clerk of Superior Court, and a prominent Lawyer of Kenansvile for many years 2. Mary A. KORNEGAY, married Herring 3. Sarah A. KORNEGAY 4. William Bryan KORNEGAY 5. Joseph KORNEGAY (He then gives the will of Sarah GLISSON KORNEGAY, 1859, as I have already posted. This is all he said about this family. George Fisher KORNEGAY's sister was the 2nd wife of Daniel GLISSON who was Sheriff, Member State House of Commons and Senate for many years and she is listed as having 6 children with Daniel GLISSON who was father of George Fisher's wife it would seem. So the A.T. OUTLAW sketch won't help you. I am sure I haven't told you anything you didn't already know. Hopefully someone may be able to help you. Pat In a message dated 7/3/2011 4:13:11 P.M. I have undocumented claims from more than one researcher that say: George Fisher Kornegay and wife Sarah Glisson had a son William Bryan Kornegay b: 1795; and a son George Fisher Kornegay b: 8-4-1815 in Duplin Co., NC - d: 9-4-1848 wife Mary E. Brock, nothing more and no children listed. QUESTION: DOES ANYONE HAVE DOCUMENTED PROOF THAT THE ABOVE SAID WILLIAM BRYAN & GEORGE ARE SON? The earliest census I have 1810 Duplin Co., NC - Head of Household George F. Kornegay: 2 M 0 thru 9............[b: bet. 1801-1810=probably Abraham b: ca1808 [Source: His 1850 Duplin Co., NC Census] & Joseph b: ca1809 [Source: His 1840 Wayne Co., NC Census. NOTE: IF this is for him, can't be 100% sure]......SURE CAN'T BE William Bryan b: 1796, IF his est. born date is correct. 1 M 26 thru 44.........[b: bet. 1766-1784=HH & father George F.] 1 F 26 thru 44.........[b: bet. 1766-1784=wife Catherine Treck [Source:Sue Meinhart, kornegay.FTW, Family Tree Electronic File, Date of Import: Aug 15, 1998]......SURE CAN'T BE wife Sarah Glisson b: February 24, 1791 [Source: Charles Kornegay cemetery marker]. Kathlynn comments.....[a] IF Wm. Bryan is a son of George Fisher, his mother certainly can't Sarah Glisson based on the fact she would have been only 4 years old when he was born......[b] The same source stated above for Catherine Treck has her as wife of George Fisher and Catherine. IF this is fact then it begs to question: Where was 15 year old William Bryan in 1810? QUESTION.....[a] DOES ANYONE HAVE DOCUMENTED PROOF THAT CATHERINE TRECK IS IN FACT A WIFE OF GEORGE F. [other than the above said electronic file data. They are indeed helpful, but can one truly consider these undocumented claims to be legitimate proof?]......[b] DOES ANYONE HAVE AN 1800, OR EARLIER, CENSUS that could possible solve this conundrum? There is so many other things in this lineage that just does not fit, but one step at a time. Thanks in advance for any help rendered. ~Kathlynn~ ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to KORNEGAY-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message
