    2. Lissa Johnston
    3. Hi everyone. I am new to the list although I have seen some Kornegay and related queries when I was subscribed to the Duplin Co. NC list. I am back working on my Guy line and wonder if anyone has any information on Abraham Kornegay who m. Susan Branch. They were the parents of Elizabeth Caroline Kornegay b. 1860 who m. James Keaton. Did Abraham and Susan have any other children? Susan Branch was the granddaughter of Mary Conerly which is the connection to my Guy line. Mary was married to William Bennett, then Jesse Guy. Many thanks, Lissa Johnston [email protected] I never intended to become a run-of-the-mill person. --Barbara Jordan

    3. Sheila, I apologize for being so long in responding to this message. I found it in cleaning out my inbox this afternoon and am pretty sure I never answered. You're welcome to anything I have; however, my material (like me) is not very well organized so it may take a little time in my getting it to you. I have really had problems in finding much about the Keatons. I know that Lewis William, his brother Alhasarus, and the Alexander Keatons, Sr. and Jr. were all issued land patents near one another in Sumpter (now Choctaw) County, Alabama in March 1837. The 1840 Sumpter County census lists the households of L.W. Kornegay (including one male - 60 to 69 years old) and Alexander Keaton (Jr.), with household of Robert R. Keaton listed on the previous page. Could this be another son of Alexander Keaton, Sr.? I've found no records of Alhasarus Kornegay after the 1837 land patent and after the 1850 Census nothing on the Keatons. Again, I'm sorry about taking so long in getting back to you. 3. Estelle Kornegay died at age 13 and is buried at Drew City Cemetery, Drew, MS. Martin Felix Kornegays date of birth was April 18, 1885, and I do not have the exact date of death in 1948. Denise Kornegay, [email protected] , may have the exact information on these dates. Estelle and I played together as children and I'm sure she died sometime between 1930-35. Hazle K. 1. [KORNEGAY-L] Porter's Chapel Cemetery (Hooker's Creek)
    2. Ken Kathy Chruscielski
    3. Here is a transcription of the headstones at Porter's Chapel Cemetery (Hooker's Creek) in Burleson County, Texas. There are two Kornegays buried here Gertrude (dau of Charles Lebanon & Corrie Elizabeth Sharp) 31 Oct 1894 16 Sep 1895 and Richard H Kornegay 30 Aug 1854 18 Sep 1893 Charles Leonard is the son of William Kornegay and Susan Winders. In the hopes that this may help someone searching RootsWeb, here's the complete cemetery list: Please note the 'directional' letters are not part of the headstone. For finding the markers, the cemetery is divided into four quadrants (NE, NW, SE, SW) and each quadrant divided into four more quadrants. For example NW(SW) indicates the marker is in the Southwest corner of the Northwest quadrant of the cemetery. ------------------------------- Cecil August Adamthwaite 1884 to 1955 NW(NW) J T Adamthwaite 18 Apr 1839 28 May 1912 NW(NW) Margaret Bain Adamthwaite 1851 to 1934 NW(NW) Iva Allbright 1902 to 1910 NE(NE) Vernon Allbright 1907 to 1908 NE(NE) W I Allbright 1859 to 1927 And Mattie A Allbright 1867 to 1931 NE(NE) F A Arnold 1 Jun 1856 10 May 1901 (Woodsman) SE(SW) James Monroe Bates Pvt Texas State Troops Cal. 1. Re: [KORNEGAY-L] Texas Kornegay's
    2. Sheila, The state of Texas has put certain records online. It sure is nice for researchers. I wish some of the other states would do the same. The state of California has records online. The URL for Texas is http://www.tdh.state.tx.us/bvs/registra/INDEX.HTM Sandy

    1. [KORNEGAY-L] Texas Kornegay's
    2. I was doing some searching in the USGenweb archives and went to Texas and put in the search name "Kornegay" and I could not believe the new stuff they have listed. There are tons of counties with birth info, with the mother and father's names listed. There were a lot of Kornegay's I did not know, but some one might. sheila http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/ussearch.htm

    3. Katherine, went to see Mr. Wiggins this afternoon. He had Willis and Mouring Stephens Wiggins in in information but was not sure exactly where they fit in. However, he did have their marriage date: 17 Dec 1779 (had him born before 1739 - but not exact date) He did not know for sure =but suspected that Willis's father was John and John's father Thomas. I hope this helps. This man did live in Mt. Olive - but has retired and moved back to his home at Red Hill.(Duplin Co) Ruth At 01:16 PM 4/1/01 -0400, you wrote: >In a message dated 3/31/2001 6:29:02 PM Central Standard Time, >[email protected] writes: > > > > There is a Red Hill that is about 4 miles (Duplin Co) from me where a > > Wiggins family lived for many years. > > > >Well it might help discernment to know the exact locations of Wiggin's Red >Hill in Duplin Co., However, I am mainly interested in George Sr, George Jr, >& Basil's "Red Hill" locations. > >Maybe a simplier way to question: >What is the exact location of: > >1.
