OMG! I really goofed. [1] First goof. On the post I made yesterday I began it with "Re: Margie's earlier post "Kornegay's in America" and I discovered later that she had not even posted her email [made just prior to mine] to the list, but instead to me personally. Sorry but you can probably google and find the information I was referring to. [2] My email was sent with only one URL in it and I have no idea how all of those URL got inserted into my email after I sent it. Sorry for any confusion that may have been caused by my sloppy post. ~Kathlynn~

You know the family that took him in first the Sheets the the Mullers ( I know the story of Sheets widow marrying Muller) who finished raising him must have been good people which he got along with them real well for I see the names of these people in his children's names. He was old enough to know his parents/siblings names and when the children started coming along he gave them names of the Mullers. So my conclusion is he liked them real well and they treated him well. Just my opinion. Glitz
Thanks for sharing your very interesting find about your husbands family entwined with your family currently and in the past. I agree we probably all have this same scenario out picturing in our lineages. I've picked up on the fact that in my own [small=800 pop] hometown were family surnames that I find 100's of years ago were also associated someway to each other. Very interesting...huh? Could it be too coincidental to be a coincident??? Based on my concept, it's definitely NOT a coincident, it's all just a part of the original miraculous and divine plan, i.e., we have all been [and if not yet we will be] kings, queens, paupers, chiefs, Indians, mothers, fathers, husbands, wives, brother, sisters, etc., to each other [that are in the same original sole group] at different times and places during the eons of our traversing thru the universe. Well that's my concept and it's also "carved in stone" until someone provides the documentation to prove me wrong....amen sister....LOL! ~Kathlynn~
I have not worked with genealogy in a very long times (about 3 years I think) In fact my genealogy is packed away and I can't find some of it. Personal life smacked me in the face and I have not been able to get back to genealogy. Where did you see I still had him as our ancestor? This list has been really quite and I don't remember this subject coming up before. Of course my memory might be off. I did a google search yesterday on the Krenig I found some of the info interesting. In my searches for family I found tha The Mullers that took in Our George Kornegay is kin to my husband. That blew my mind. When his line started coming into the same time frame and area as the Kornegay family I was thinking WOW Milt's family have to have known my family way back in 1710. The further back I went the more I found and lo and behold our George Kornegay was raised by My husbands family. I thought that was so neat because 200 (give or take) years later two of their ancestors married and we knew nothing of the relationship between the families. I kinda suspect there are more families like this if they follow the lines. But my husband's family is entwined in my like you would not believe. Even in my mom's side. One of his kin was instrumental in helping the Parker clan at Ft Parker here in Tx survive that indian raid in 1839. 8/2/2011 Eddie Lynn Kornegay Davis writes: OK you documented this name as the origin of our Kornegay line? 8/2/2011 Kathlynn writes: Documented? LOL! NO I didn't mean I had, without a doubt, the customary documentation that we usually refer to as documented that would prove our George Kornegay's father is John Krenig. However, I think it is as close to being documented as we are ever going to find. The short of the story: I previously, posted to the list what I had just found for John Krenig on the list of Palatines from Germany to England in June 1709 arrivals, and asked If he could be our immigrant ancestor. I got a favorable yes from several [see 3-16-2008 post in the archives], however I had never entered him on my data base. Now yesterday after I discovered, or rediscovered, that I have had an undocumented claim for 20 years that this same John Krenig WAS our immigrant ancestor, I was just saying that finding him on the list was the documentation to this undocumented claim...Whew! .....clear as mud??? Bottom line: I DID NOT mean to imply that I had documented him as father of our George. Sorry I wasn't clear. "Carving him in Stone" meaning now that I realize there's been "two minds, independent of each other, coming to the same conclusion" I am more convinced he is our ancestor and will now enter him on my data base. I am making notes that clearly state the connection may or may not be correct. I feeling more convinced with just one days passing, because I've found more.....[1] I googled and found "'Krenik Name Meaning and History, Variant spelling of German Krenig, itself a variant of Kranich" ......[2] 23 June 2003 Matt Ward's post to Kornegay list also mentions this John Krenig I forgot exactly what he said and best I remember he had the John George Kornegay as immigrant/father of George [you'll just have to go read it to make sure I'm remembering correctly]. There was a "Learn more about Krenik" click on URL that took you to ancestry.com. I would love to see what else they have, but I am not a subscriber. IF anyone else has a subscription will you please look for it and please send me what you find? ..... By the way Eddie, I *think* I saw where you still had John George Kornegay as our immigrant ancestor, you've probably since corrected it, but just in case.....IT has been proved he is not our ancestor. Hope it clearer to you now. ~Kathlynn~
Francis Ward Waller is my father's first cousin. She is now 86 and still in reasonably good health and sound of mind. She and her husband still live on a farm near Hartsville, Trousdale Co., TN which is part of a larger tract that was what our John Ward ancestor settled in 1798 with his wife Roxsolany Kornegay.
