    3. Hi Gayle, I have some info on Penelope Ward & Anthony Drew. Are you part of the Ward lines or the Drew lines. I got a call from a man who is also part of that line just a couple of weeks ago. He doesn't have e-mail to communicate, and had called me by telephone because his brother living in D.C. saw my homepage on FTM and caught some of my Ward info which connects to his. He was able to give me some of what I didn't have before. He did give me the Drew ancestors back to the emigrant in Maryland, an Anthony Drew. The names are mostly George Drews & Anthony Drews coming down about 5 generations. Please post a bit of your Kornegay lines so we can all have it too. Thanks. I will be posting a chart in the next few days. This sure is a busy mail-list right now. Great! Sue in CA

    3. Sue, I have a first cousin that is from the Jacob family. maybe we could exchange info. My husband is from the William Kornegay family. I don't think that book has been copied. Mr Oates (who lives about 15 miles from me) just published it about a year ago. I live about 1/2 mile from the old Kornegay cemetery. In fact. I live on some of the old Kornegay land that Hester Eliza Kornegay inherited from her father. The book is not indexed - so it takes a while to look up info- but it is well documented. It is mostly = deeds and wills. "Duplin County, N.C., Deed Book O, Page 126 7-1-1796 & Bk 8A. P 161 Jacob Kornegay, dec'd (D1796) (Son of George Kornegay D1773) Division of Estate by committe. Reg Oct. Term 1823 Heirs: Widow and twelve children. Jacob married second, Mary Ward. Duplin Co Marriaage Bond 7-19-1777, Bondsman Luke Ward. Children of both marriages: John Kornegay (B 1760) oldest, already received 300 acres by Deed 1785. no more, Jacob Kornegay, George Kornegay, Rebeccah Kornegay, Luke Kornegay, Bryan Kornegay, Abraham Kornegay, Henry Kornegay, Penny Kornegay, Mary Kornegay (younger 1/3 of 290 A) Martin Kornegay, William Duncan, son in law, wife not named, John Ward, son in law, wife not named." This is a sample of what he has in his book - which is very informative. Much much more in fact a total of 100 pages letter size. Hope this helps you Ruth At 02:38 PM 5/18/98 -0400, you wrote: >Hi Sandy, > >Is the book "John George Kornegay 1670 - 1711" on film at the FHC? Would >anyone know that or not? 3. Hi Sandy, Is the book "John George Kornegay 1670 - 1711" on film at the FHC? Would anyone know that or not? There were so many names in the index you just did that are in my database that I really need to get a copy of the whole book, I think. Also wanted to know if deeds, wills or bible records were put into the book too. Thanks for typing out the index for everyone to have. Question for anyone... does someone have a copy of the obit and will for Anne Sevil Kornegay who married William Duncan and later John Flowers, Duplin Co., NC? If so, if it is small enough, would that someone just type it out in an e-mail to the mail-list. Thanks. Sue Meinhart in southern CA I am a descendant of George Kornegay through his son, Capt. 3. Hi Sheila, I would be happy to copy it for you but first I must check with Mr. Oates. I will write him tomorrow. I talked to him on the phone when I ordered his book; he said he wasn't making any money off this book, he just did the book because he had gathered the information while researching his own line. He isn't related to the Kornegays. If he agrees I could possibly have the pages scanned and it wouldn't cost you anything. Sandy

He had only a few books left when I got mine and now they are all gone. He doesn't plan to print anymore. Only the first 50 of the 100 pages are about the Kornegay's. The other pages are said to tie in someway. I haven't read the entire book. I don't think he would mind if I shared the information with you. Sandy

    3. Hey Sandy, If you would copy it for me to read, I would be so tickled. I will send you some money to copy it. I had to do the same thing for a lady that I work with. There was a book in the library that described her family and It could not be checked out so I wound up copying all 312 pages. When her mother saw it she began to recall things about the family and Katie was thrilled. Let me know how much you need and when I get paid Friday I'll send it to you. Again Thanks so much. Oh dont forget to send me your line so I can add it to my address book. Sheila

    3. Ruth, Thank you so much for responding! William's child -- Elizabeth Kornegay -- is the one my line goes through. From the information I have, she was born around 1768 in Duplin county. She married Daniel Glisson around 1791 -- she was his second wife. Daniel was married to Sarah Herring first. Elizabeth died on October 10, 1834. Daniel Glisson's father Haywood Glisson and his mother was Susan Linda Taylor. I remember my great-grandmother, Daisy Susan Elizabeth Glisson who was married to Marcus Jones. Most of my ancestors came from North Carolina. Many are from Duplin, Johnston, Sampson, Wayne, Craven, and Mecklenburg Counties. I would love to visit Duplin County sometime and read all about my ancestors! I grew up in Fayetteville (Cumberland County) -- my Mom still lives there -- but didn't really get interested in genealogy until my husband moved us to Alaska. I try to gather information as I can -- I would love to put together a family history for Christmas for my mom -- it may be Christmas a couple of years from now, but sometime I would love to do that! -----Original Message----- From: Ruth Westbrook <o6t8l5jv@coastalnet.com> To: KORNEGAY-L@rootsweb.com <KORNEGAY-L@rootsweb.com> Date: Tuesday, January 20, 1998 2:11 AM Subject: Re: [KORNEGAY-L] Kornegay, Fisher, Outlaw, Whitfield >Brenda, I have some information on your Kornegay family - as >I too am researching the Kornegays (my husband's family) >If you can tell me more about your family -which one of William's >children and etc. maybe I also can fill in some blanks. > >I have been away from home for a few days and am behind in my >workk so it may be a few days before I cam get back to this info. > >I live in Duplin County NC where a lot of the Kornegay's, Outlaws, >Simmons and Gradys settled. > >Will get back to this as soon as I can - > >Ruth > > > > >At 09:39 PM 1/19/1998 -0900, you wrote: >>>>> > >Hi - My name is Brenda Kimble and I'm looking for information on my GGGGGGGrandparents -- George Kornegay and Mary Fisher. >From the information I have, George Kornegay came over with the Palatines with his family -- who were all killed by the Indians except him.
