I'm tired <G>. You have already done that Lori. Did I give you any information on the Kornegays? If so I probably gave you some wrong information. I don't think I knew that Jacob had been married twice. I said think because I get so confused with the lines having the same names. I tried to give some extra information here for you. Maybe sometime I'll give a list of marriages. I have some I copied from a book because the last name was Kornegay and I didn't know at the time where my line was.

BTW...I have Margaret (wife of George Jr. ) as having been married to a Lullum. Therefore, I assume Lullum was her married name and Downing was her birth surname.

Hello Fellow KORNEGAY researchers: I am Gayle Williams Licari, a native of Goldsboro, NC WAYNE COUNTY and a recent transplant to Carson City, Nevada. I must share this with all of you. It took us 6 days driving across country. My husband refuses to drive at night. Well we reached Fernley, NV after travelling 2,900 miles. We did not have very clear directions to our friends home so we were driving the main street of this small town when I noticed the sign KORNEGAY Trailer and RV Park so I immediately told Larry to stop so we might ask directions to Janna's and Jess's. Just So happened Janna and this lady bowled together so we stopped at the correct place. Later, I gave her a copy of the KORNEGAY information I xeroxed from the vertical file in our NC STATE ARCHIVES. Her husband's line is from Alabama. My line is George KORNEGAY e Mary FISHER>William KORNEGAY e Elizabeth OUTLAW>If the info I have is correct I have two lines coming from Wm and Elizabeth KORNEGAY. > David KORNEGAY e Charity O' Daniel> dau. Frances Anne KORNEGAY e Blaney WILLIAMS (still trying to prove) and Zilphia KORNEGAY e Edward OUTLAW>Wm OUTLAW e Helon Whitfield>Nancy Ann OUTLaw e James Cicero Williams. Thank everyone for sharing information. It has been a huge source of help in unscambling my lines. Gayle W. Licari Tarheel@Heart
Hello, I checked the OUTLAW BOOK and I did not find Clarrissa Rouse or her spouse mentioned. Sorry, Gayle W. Licari AJus100395@aol.com wrote: > HI DID ANY OF YOU EVER FIND THE PARENTAGE OF MY JOHN KORNEGAY B-1843 TO > CLARISSA ROUSE?
Hi, I have John born to George Washington Kornegay ma: Clarissa Rouse; I have G.W.K. born to George Kornegay, Jr. & Margaret Downing-Lullum. Is that right, everyone? Sue in CA
Hi Ruth, I shouldn't have asked it that way then. Who were the first Simmons in this country for your line? Can't do much of any checking if they are out of the country. Thanks. Sue in CA
Hi All, Guess what! I was looking over my data on the various connecting names and discovered I also have some Walters info too. A Susan Emma Duncan married Jesse C. Walters in 1859 in Pike Co., MS. Anyone else connected to this Walters line to know whether it goes back to the connecting to Kornegay? Sue in CA
Matt, Do you know who this William Kornegay's parents were? Thanks, Lori
Ruth, I apologize...I may be confused. Do you know if Charlotte and Charity were sisters? Outlaw Book list William Kornegay, Jr and Charlotte Best or O'Daniel children: Elizabeth KORNEGAY Abraham KORNEGAY children by 2nd marriage nancy KORNEGAY m. Wm Houston. they had one child Mary W. b. 1848 m. Henry Foster Nancy was dead by 1930 according to the Grady Book. Thomas KORNEGAY, b. abt 1828 Catherine E. KORNEGAY b. abt 1831 Winifred KORNEGAY William Henry KORNEGAY Hope this helps. Gayle Ruth Westbrook wrote: > can anyone out there tell me more about the descendents of William Kornegay > and > Charlotte O'Quinn Best Kornegay (daughter of Owen O'Daniel and Charity > Herring) > Ruth
Ruth, Now I am thoroughly confused. Do you know which is correct. I have David KORNEGAy and Charity O' Daniel dau of Owen O'Daniel and Charity Herring married. I have two sources for this information Daniel Whitley and Jim Harwood. David KORNEGAY being the son of William KORNEGAY and Elizabeth OUTLAW. I note that your William KORNEGAY, Jr. from OUTLAW Book has him married first to Charlotte Best and in (O'Daniel) 2nd to Catherine GRADY so apparently Abner OUTLAW was uncertain whether Charlotte was a Best or O'Daniel????? Dear Aunt Sandy, Thank you for the lines. Yes, awhile back you had given me a little of it. I think what you sent this time is a little more filled in. I will check it over. Again, thank you for this. Anything else you can throw this way would be great. All my love, Lori
Barbara, Not yet, but I am working on it. Lori
Dear Matt, Thank you for the update. I don't mind you pointing out things that need to be corrected. I welcome it, as I want things to be accurate. I just started my Kornegay line, and am really confused. With the intermarrying of the family, I have a hard time keeping things straight. I do appreciate anything you can correct for me. Thank you again. Sincerely, Lori
I would be interested in the Simmons if they come back to the NC Simmons. My husband was just a related to the Simmons and he was to the Kornegays Thanks Ruth At 02:44 PM 6/10/98 -0400, you wrote: >Hi Sandy, > >My cousin, Suzanne & my aunt are always doing genealogy stuff in San Augustine >Co., TX and of course, elsewhere. Lori, I am responding to a letter of yours to Ruth and making some comments according to my data vis-a-vis yours. William Alfred Kornegay and Florence Reeves did have at least one additional child along with your William Houston K. It was Jessie Edward K. b. 9 Feb 1890, d. 7 Jan 1956 in Phoenix, AZ. He married Clara Walton; they had three children: Lee, Ernest, Florence. John Ward Kornegay (b 1822) married in 1856 not 1891 (the year of his death). I have her name spelled Narcissus (like the flower). Of the children of Miller Kornegay and Nancy Ward, I have Roxanna marrying Swan 22 Sept 1833, not Oct (but you may be right...check against other data). I also have the 8th child spelled Burchell not Burchett. John Kornegay married 2 Aug 1783 in Duplin Co. to Civil/Sevil Kornegay Of their children, Peggy was formally named Margaret (and I have a middle name of Lea, but that may be a mistake someone made considering she married a Lee) The Parents of John Kornegay b. 1760 are Jacob Kornegay b. 1732 d. 1796 and Elizabeth Fontaine. She was his first wife. Their children were: John, Martin, Ann Sevil, George, Rockalena (Roxie Laney) Later, Jacob married Mary Ward (the sister of John Ward who married Rockalena). Their children were: Rebeccah, Bryan, Luke, Abraham, Henry, Penelope (Penny), Mary. They did not have a child named Jacob II (Jacob's brother, George, named a son after Jacob). I don't claim that my information is infallible and yours is wrong. I only point out the differences. I picked up a lot of middle names and dates of your later generation from your post. Thanks. Matt Ward
