Hi all, Accidently stumbled into a very good website this morning. W.D. Floyd has done several counties with cemetery listings. Very good. He goes an extra step and gives all surnames then lists the people with their dates. Everyone should put this address in their permanent places to go to visit once in a while. I counted several counties and some with as many as 15 or more cemeteries listed. www.rfci.net/wdfloyd/index.html Til later. Sue in CA

Hi Lori, That Jesse C. Walter ma: Susan Emma Duncan about 1859 in Pike Co., MS. There are 5 Walters children born between 1861 - 1870. Their names are Doyt, Malissa, Louisa, Charlie, & Maxie. Susan Emma Duncan is a descendant of Anne Civil Kornegay. In another generation a Mattie Estelle Newman b:6 Jan 1898 in AL, ma: Henry Walters. There is 1 child listed: Ruth Walters b: 1918. That is all the Walters I am showing in the line at this time. As I was going through the report I started noticing a lot of the other connecting surnames: Bowden, Reaves, Gregory, Green, Richardson, Southerland, Hobbs, Hatcher, Cherry, Robinson, Williamson, Craddock, Fortner, Hancock, Collingworth, Jurley, Corkern, Walters, Thomas, Knight, Holmes, Bass, Stanley, Darden, Broadhurst, Ezell, Swinson, Hines, Dinning, Godwin, Beamon, Missledine, Davis, Newman, Lott, Quave, Carter, Ball, Meeks, Sasser, Langston, Cox, Devane, Dean, Eglesby, Milton, Tart, Castleberry, Cowan, Traynor, Beasley, Park & Ellis. If possible when giving KORNEGAY data please include sources to help make our research as accurate as possible. And because there are so many George's, Williams, etc it would be helpful to identify them either 1st, 2nd, 3rd or Sr. Jr. etc. This may aide to keep the material clear and concise. Thank you and I will try to do the same consideration when giving material. Gayle W. Licari
You are correct Matt, Her father was Robert Downing, a barrister of London, England. George's second wife was Mrs. Mourning Wiggins widow of Willis Wiggins. George and Mourning did NOT have children. Mourning's dau. Elizabeth Wiggins married George's son, Jacob, 11. Source is by Mrs. Margaret Dwoning (TJ) KORNEGAY TOLSON. Dear Cousins - I had 83 e-mail messages waiting for me tonight! Boy have we ever stirred things up. I think we all need to come to some sort of concensus about what Sheila has reported. All these years I thought we were Germans . . . and now we're Swiss instead. Robert's stuff seemed pretty convincing. Any other opinions or insights? I heard from Dr. Dallas Herring (Head of Duplin County Historical Society) this evening and he's still thinking the Kornegays are German Palatines but he doesn't have a researcher on site. I'm going to forward him a copy of Robert's message to Sheila and see what he says about it. Wonderful chatting with you all last night! Matt, I have always heard that it was Narcissus Smalley but on her headstone it is spelled Narcissa. She is buried in Flynn Cemetery in AR. I believe it is near Humphrey which straddles two counties Jefferson and Arkansas but the cemetery according to someone I asked is in Lonoke Co. My cousins Inez Duffel Brooks and Elner Hartsfield Crisp took me out there. I would like to go back but there is no way I could find it by myself. We went down a lot of country roads and it is in the woods. Her son Daniel Kornegay is buried there: Nov. 12, 1877 - Feb 15 1948. Also her daughter Ann who married William Boch. I asked why she was buried in Flynn Cemetery and her husband was buried in Smalley Cemetery. I was told that she had gone to visit relatives and she got sick while she was there and died. I also wonder why my grandmother Florence Reeves was buried in Connell Cemetery and not in the family cemetery which is Smalley Cemetery. I found only one headstone in Connell last year. It is overgrown in weeds. There is no marker for my grandmother. I don't know if she ever had one. I was told that someone wanted to farm that area so he removed the stones and was plowing the ground until someone made him stop. I heard the other side of the story last year at the family reunion. I was told he didn't realize there were graves there because it was grown up. Please critque what I sent earlier. Thanks, Sandy
