I am interested in a copy. It seems you may be getting yourself into something. In fact, I like to get all the information that I can on the lines that I am looking up Kornegay, Simmons, Bowden, Grant, Westbrook, Williams, and Goodson. are the main lines that I am searching. Hi Barbara, Please don't stop with the posting of the war info on certain Kornegay men. It is definitely being filed by many of us here on the mail-list. I appreciate you doing that for us. Sue in CA
Sue - I am going through my messages this morning when I saw yours. I missed the first one about the "us" and "sa", but my opinion would be that there was a little gender-bending going on with the family history writers. A name ending with the letters "us" generally indicates a man and "sa" indicates a woman. Wouldn't be the first time a man was written down as a woman or vice versa. Hi Chris, I called James Grimwood and talked with him about 30 minutes. A very interesting person to talk with. Here is his address: James Grimwood 826 Voyager Drive Houston, TX 77062-5619 (281) 488-3972 By calling, this probably was the way to get special consideration for purchasing his book. I told him that I thought he probably had ordered a number of extras for people who still wanted to buy. He said, "yes." But not that many. So get to him quickly. I have already mailed him the $49 for the order. He told me that there is more Conerly info in the book that didn't make it into the Lampton book plus he is a descendant of the same lines you & I are, so there is over 3,000 descendants for Kesiah Herring alone. It will probably be the end of the summer before we get the book. He was 8 days late getting the master to the printing company. By the way, I was able to get John M. Oates, Jr.'s book "John George Kornegay, The Palatine Immigrant 1660 - 1711" that he wrote 2 years ago and had sold out of. I called him 2 weeks ago and because he still had a loose leaf master of the book, he copied it for me for $25 and gave me permission to copy it to any library or anyone who wants it too. I called 2 places here and I could get it done for $15 plus $3 postage. John charged me $3 postage too. It is well written too. A couple people from the Kornegay mail-list have sent me checks and already have their copies now. Worked out pretty good. It has 103 pages. Need to ask you if you are using FTM for your program. I have set up Whitfield, Duncan, Herring & Kornegay GEDCOMS. If you want any of them, let me know and I'll export to you in an e-mail. Well, have a good weekend. Til later. Almost forget to mention it. I received a package from Jim Duncan in TX. He has done some really good research and has done some special spreadsheets for instance, tracking all the deeds by the different Duncans from Edmund I on down. Also he has the place where Edmund came from. Ulster, Ireland and born about 1730. Still no last name for Grace though. They supposedly married in NC. If you want the copies, let me know. I mailed off a package to you yesterday. Sue in CA

George Kornegay (1735-1808) was married twice. First, and mother of his children, Margaret (Downing) Lullum, born in England. He second married in 1802, Mouring (Stevens or Stephenson) Wiggins, widow of Willis Wiggins, of Wayne County, N. c. and mother in law to Jacob Kornegay as well as his stepmother. Jacob and his wife Elizabeth (Wiggins) had at least one child Bryan Kornegay. They had property in Wayne County, NC on the Southside of Falling creek

Seems like today is my day for typo's. Instead of Kingdom of Latvia it should have read Kingdom of Talsen. Eddie
Hey guys--I was just passing on what was passed to me. It could be that it is swiss after all. Latvia was once owned by Switzerland. When my sister put in the Kingdom of Latvia that is what came up. Then I put a query in the Latvia Genforum site and the msg I passed along was what was e-mailed me. Every little clue helps to unravel this puzzle. What I am thinking is: Maybe John George was born in the Kingdom of Talsen, his family migrated to the Palinate where he got married and had a family. OR he came over with the Baron. Sounds good to me. I will pursue that ave. We seem to be hitting a brick wall everywhere we turn, and it has to be there somewhere. By the way---the ones of you I have not corresponded with before, here is a little personal history--- My name is Eddie Lynn Davis maiden name Kornegay. I am the youngest of 4 girls being as my parents had no boys I got my dad's name. That is ok now. Just thought I would let the ones of you know that I am female, have 3 grown children, 7 grandchildren, and a husband of 32 years. Isn't he lucky :-) Eddie
Was someone looking for her/parents? If so contact me at davises@airmail.net Eddie
Thought everyone would like to read this. I thought it was interesting.
Milton, Thanks for straightening out that bit of geographical dissidence. I visited Latvia a couple of years ago and it is a loooong way from the Rhine River valley. This Talsen/Talsi story reminds me of the Kornegay Texican I ran into a while back who thought we were all Irish because he had read somewhere that a lot of the family had once lived in Dublin. His brother corrected that one by drolly explaining the difference between Dublin Ireland and Duplin County, NC...<g> Robert -- ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Robert L.
