Thanks Sue for the URL. I've been thinking about Rhonda. She sent me her GEDCOM of over 4,000 names and I lost it (computer crash). I asked for it again and she sent it to me and I did somthing else weird. I have it but it isn't really accessible. I sent her my info so it may be at that address. Hi Sandy, On that diskette you are talking about, try renaming it to the "originalname.GED". Sometimes that will do the trick. Have had that happen a couple of times and by renaming, it was opened just fine. Sue in cA
Sue - All you need to do is type in the URL, the email programs know that it's a link. You only need to type in the <a href=" "> stuff if you're writing code for an html page. Hi All, Does anyone have the 2 sets of children listed for Martin Kornegay who married Susanna Rogers & Patsy Turnage? I am missing children completely. If someone can help out here, please list with dates & locations too. Thanks, gang. Sue in CA
I believe this is Ruth's e-mail address o6t85jv@coastal.net Gayle Licari
Dear Kornegay Cousins - Who out there is descended from William Kornegay (1762 - 1837), son of William Korngay and Elizabeth Outlaw? I'm a little confused on the children. The Outlaw Genealogy book has an entirely different set of names. Anyone have a good list of wives and children? Dear Kornegay Cousins - I wanted to drop y'all a line to mention that our family web site is really coming along nicely - with help and input from all of you. Except for that Sheila; she never sends me anything. Whoops! Donna and Eddie were trying to do a Vulcan mind meld with me for a minute, but I fought them off. Sheila and I are pals. She's even sent me stuff via snail-mail. Doing the site is slow work, but amazingly I continue to plug away at it. The real world does intrude from time to time, but I always come back to it. Truth to tell, it has really given me a new appreciation for the entire family as I peer at my notes, thumb through several linear feet of email printouts, and peck away at my keyboard all the while trying to make sense of it all. I really have to ask Kathy Chruscielski to stand up and take a bow. She has sent me five of the seven pictures that we have posted in the "Family Photos" area. Nothing's more electric than actually seeing the face of an ancestor about whom you've read, studied, and thought a great deal. If you haven't visited that area of the site lately, I encourage you to do so. It loads slowly, but definitely worth the wait. I'd really like photos of Daniel Kornegay and his wife Martha Dail if anyone has any, but am willing to post photos of any Kornegays for all to enjoy. I'll take 'em in any format in which you can send them, electronic or hard copy. Isn't it a shame that photography is such a "new" invention? Just think how great it would be if we had "happy snaps" of the really old Kornegays mixing it up in old Duplin, Craven, and Jones Counties. That reminds me, I really need to find a good map of the eastern North Carolina area for us to be able to see the geographical relationships between the various branches of the family. I've done a lot of posting to the Family Lines area too and have decided to relax my policy on posting about living people. I mean, you've got to trust SOMEBODY after all; but I won't post birth dates for living people, just the birth year. I even have myself up there. If you want your name up in lights, so to speak, and you're not too-o-o-o far removed from a direct Kornegay line, send me the details and I'll get on it. I'm also looking for more information on family reunions in different parts of the country, so if you have one please let me know the details so that I can post the information for everybody to see. Actually, the family migration is one of the more interesting facets of my study. I think we need to devote some time and maybe even a page or two to it. Looking forward to hearing from you! Ruth, Sorry to hear about your arm. I have discovered over the years, there are a lot of things that can not be done with the hand that is not dominant.....particulary in the bathroom. You would think brushing your teeth is not so hard until you cant use the hand you normally use. Let me know what you want to know about the family. Sheila
