Hi fellow Koehler researchers - I am including some info on my ancestor Henry Koehler (c.1794 Alsace-1849 Holmes Co. OH), who immigrated to the US about 1829 and initially settled in Yates Co., New York, where he was naturalized. The Henry Koehler family migrated to Holmes County, Ohio in 1835; many Koehler/Kaylor descendants still live in this Holmes/Ashland/Knox/Wayne Co. OH area today. While I still have a good bit of Yates Co. NY research to do, I believe Henry's father was also named Henry Koehler (b.1767, d.1831 Yates Co. NY). I also suspect that Frederick Koehler (1783 Alsace-1840 Yates Co. NY) and Magdalena Koehler Herman (b. c1791 Alsace) are siblings of Henry. The Frederick Koehler and Henry Herman families remained in Potter Twp., Yates Co. NY. Following is a narritive on the Henry Koehler family, which will be included in the Holmes County Ohio History book which will be published this fall. The article is based on research done by several of us Koehler/Kaylor "cousins." I'd be interested in hearing from any of you who might connect to this family!
