Hope the following information is of help to someone: In the November 1897 issue of "The Century Illustrated Monthly Magazine, Vol. LV, " I found an advertisement for "Dr. P. Kahler & Sons, Surgeon Chiropodists" at Nos. 928 & 930 Broadway, New York, NY. The business was established in 1868. According to the ad, they were shoe manufacturers. "The Trade-Mark--of Dr. Kahler--is stamped on sole of each 'Kahler' Shoe." If anyone connects with them, I would be happy to send a copy of the ad. I am researching Jacob Kahler, b. 1785 Loudoun Co., VA, d. Feb. 1844 McConnelsville, Morgan Co., OH. I don't believe any of the family were in New York. Would love to learn who Jacob's parents and siblings were, however, if anyone recognizes him. Thank you. Sharon
