I have on interlibrary loan until Oct. 20th a book by Arvid Kohler and Kitty Cosentine, entitled The House of Von Kohler, a Family History 1300-1989. Kohler has an umlaut over the "o" but the book also states that the name was spelled Koler in the 1500s. This is a very complete history of a particular family from a land called Godset Smerle in the Sunzel parish of Livlund, Sweden. The authors' grandfather Hjalmer Fromholt Von Kohler, b. 1843, immigrated from Bohuslan, Sweden, and died 1928 in Moline, Illinois. The book has numerous pages and several photographs of Swedish and American family members in the 1800s and 1900s. I can do lookups. Sharon Carberry
