Roger, My WEIS line is from Gamshurst, Baden, Germany. They back to the 1600's, but my ancestors who came to "Amerika" came in 1830. They were: Johannis Nicholas WEIS, (wife) Maria Anna ALLGEYER (also Gamshurst family), sons Stanislaus, Joachim, Karl, Nicholas, and Joseph. The arrived possibly in Perry County, OH first, then purchased land in Mercer County, OH where they settled. The WEIS family, togehter with the DOLL family were the founders of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Victoria, OH (now St. Joseph) in Mercer County.
