Hi Köhler's, You might get tired of hearing from me because I am sick with some irritating abdominial 'bug' and this helps to keep my mind off of it. The piece below was found this morning on the web. Leslie Bridges Kohler >> 'Born' 8/17/98 the TROTTER surname list << >> Variations of Köhler?? It was called the Delsarte make of dress. It was aimed against the tight corset and small waist. Its advocates pointed out that the body should be free and unfettered; that clothing should be hung from the shoulders with no tight, high collars, no tight sleeves or waistbands; that garters should hang from the shoulders and that slips should be used instead of petticoats, and then only one should be worn; that the skirt be gored and the length be slightly above the shoe top. With the shorter dresses, stockings were brought up above the knee. This style was brought to Manti by LOUISE KELLER, who had attended school in Chicago the previous winter. The neck of the dress was finished with a lay-down collar of lace. A union suit took the place of a chemise and pantalets. This brought about a different style of corset, one that came up to the bustline and down to the hips.
