Good morning, While at the Ancestry site this morning, I was looking for information on my hubby's George Henry KOEHLER/KOHLER. While I did not find him, I *did* find another George KOEHLER who had purchased 40,000 acres of land in Wisconsin in 1856. If anyone needs more info on this transaction, let me know and I will send more. :-)) Leslie [Bridges] Kohler ROOTSWEB DONOR &&&&&&&&&&&&&&&& owner: KOEHLER surname list (serving all variations of Köhler) owner: TROTTER surname list

Hello, A message was posted to the list yesterday that should not have been. It dealt with someone "seeking commission-based sales representatives and distributors". This type of post is forbidden on our genealogy list. I felt it my responsibility to mention this fact to all so that hopefully we will not have a problem such as this in the future. It is hoped that the person who posted the message was only trying to help others. However, this type of posting cannot be allowed within our forum. Thanks, Bob. Unfortunately, my computer literate friend needs to come over to check my machine as the alt key/number pad stuff has quit working. At least now I can get it using cut & paste. Hi, I'm looking for any information on Koehlers in Louisiana, specificly New Orleans Parish. My Grandfather was born there on January 30, 1879 and died in San Diego CA. on April 23, 1947. His name was Bernard Joseph Koehler, but I think he went by Ben. His parents were married in New Orleans on April 24, 1874, and their names were Phillippe and Leontine (Veirses) Koehler. I understand that Leontine died young and that the children were farmed out to other members of the family. Their other children were all girls and their names were Katherine, Loretta and Mary. Phillipe's parents' names were Jacob and Catherine Keehler (as spelled on Phillippes marriage certificate) Koehler. I would love to hear from anyone with knowledge of these Koehlers or Veirses. I never knew there were so many Koehlers out there. This is wonderful!! Thanks for any and all help. Kathleen Moore
To make an umlauted capitol O on a Windows machine, hold down the Alt key and on the NUMERIC KEYPAD type 153 or 214, one or the other should work. My Netscape mail reader uses Alt 153. -- Bob Mittelstadt rdstadt@internetwis.com -- Researching western Dodge County, Wisconsin: Fox Lake, Trenton, Beaver Dam, Oak Grove, Lowell, Calamus, Westford, where plenty of Koehlers and Kohlers found new homes in America.
>Will someone, who knows how to type Köhler >in all capital letters, send it to me that way... >Please. Hi, Leslie. Here it is: KÖHLER. If it doesn't look right here, it's probably because the character set that Internet mail uses as a standard doesn't include the Ö, so it can't be transmitted this way. On a Macintosh, you type first Option-u, and then Shift-O (as you would for an ordinary uppercase O). Using a Wintel machine? I can't help you. My condolences, and good luck! :-) Eric

Will someone, who knows how to type Köhler in all capital letters, send it to me that way... Please. I had it so that I could use cut & paste. But, I have lost it. My machine will not even let me type in the word in lower case letters now. So, I'll use cut & paste for both ways. TIA. Leslie
