[ see pg 149 ] ERRATA AND ADDENDA TO THE KNOWLTON ANCESTRY Among "Families Not Otherwise Classified" the following descendants of Jonathan Knowlton are given below. After much diligent searches and correspondence I am unable to Identify him in the History. 1. Jonathan Knowlton, b. in Mass., m. Jemima Cluff, or Clough. They had chil. as follows: (2) Curtis, b. 1812, in Mass., m. Annis Tinney, about 1834, in Fowler, St. Law- rence Co., N. Y. (3) Patrick, b. rem. to Michigan, where he died. Had sons William and George; the latter now lives at Peachbelt, Mich. Also had other chil. (4) Sylvester, b. had a dau. who m. — Burke. They had dau. Clara Burke, a teacher; res. at Burlington, la. (g) Leveritt, b. lived in St. Lawrence Co., N. Y., where he died, and where his chil. now reside. (6) and (7). Two daughters, names unknown. Above 2. Curtis Knowlton and Annis Tinney. When a boy he rem. to Fowler, St. Lawrence Co., N. Y., where he died. He was a farmer. They had as follows; ( 8 ) Jonathan Curtis, b. May 15, 1835, m. Clara J. Hewitt, in Luzerne, Warren Co., N. Y., in 1855. ( 9 ) Nathan Starks, m. Laura Goodnow. (10) Caroline, m. Ira Hewitt. She is deceased. (11) Sarah Lovisa, m. Marvin Orton. She is deceased. (12) Mary Jane, m. Arnold Bullard. She is deceased. (13) Benjamin Franklin, m. Sophronia Goodnow. He served in War of the Rebellion, d, in 1894, of consumption. (14) Aaron W., served in the Rebellion, was wounded, and d. in the Hospital in 1863, unm. (15) David Kinney, m. Amanda Newton. He is deceased. (16) Charles, m. Anna Newton. Above 8. Jonathan Curtis Knowlton and Clara J. Hewitt live at Stoney Creek, Warren Co., N. Y. He is a farmer. Served in the Rebellion 1861-5. They had chil. as follows: (17) John Henry, b. Nov. 9, 1855, at Stoney Creek, N. Y., m. Alzary Zobedia Hewitt, Sept 30, 1877. (18) Francis La Mora, res. Stoney Creek, N. Y. General store and postmaster. (19) N. La Fayette, lives at Warrensburg, Warren Co., N. Y. (20) Charlotte J., m. — Pixley. Res. Stoney Creek, N. Y. (21) Mary A., m. — Swanson. Lived at Stoney Creek. Is dead. (23) Jonathan W., lives at Corinth, Sar. Co., N. Y. (33) Alvin B., lives at Stoney Creek, N. Y. (24) Emma L., d., unm. (25) Lewis Patrick, lives at Stoney Creek, N. Y. Above 17. John Henry Knowlton and Alzary Zobedia Hewitt had chil. as given below. He was a grocer and dealer in general merchandise at Stoney Creek, N. Y., for 15 years, and at Glens Falls, N. Y., for 3 years.
