Kathleen, Irrespective of Cantize, Balch, Elizabeth or Ann...I'm just happy enough to get back to John Knowlton (m. Bethia Edwards); as this began the lineage which makes Thomas Knowlton (b. 18 Jan 1759, and a Revolutionary War veteran) my gggg grandfather and the vehicle for my daughters' admission to the DAR!!! I've only been actively researching my roots for the past half a year, and with nothing more than the web and the county library...I've been amazed at what is available (information-wise) "out there". Two things that I have learned is that your searches should be open ended with no particular goal in sight, and you need to branch out from every single union along the way. You could be VERY surprised at what you find.
