I show Jesse Knowlton in Montgomery, Jennings, Indiana on the 1830 Census. Then on the 1850 census he is listed as Jesse S Knolton and both Joshua and William are listed with other siblings and the wife of Jesse shows as Hetty born in Del. In the 1880 census William shows his mother born in VA. I did find another Knowlton listed in Jennings Co., Indiana for 1820. This is Stephen Knowton with three males listed in the age range of my Jesse Knowlton. The only other Stephen I see is in the 1800 census in Berne, Albany, NY, the state where Jesse Knowlton was born about 1800/1801. I live out of the country so it is hard for me to find information except on the internet and it is wonderful what can be found this way and by wonderful people like yourself who are willing to help.
