    3. No, this Wyram/Wiram is the son of Stephen Knowlton and Elizabeth Allen, my great-great grandparents. Stephen was born in Vermont to Daniel Knowlton and Anna French, and moved with them first to Ohio (where he married in 1838), then briefly Missouri, then Wisconsin, where they lived quite some time, in Iowa Co., Richland Co., and Lafayette Co., before moving on to Iowa (Dallas Co.). Most of Stephen's children eventually went to California. I have also wondered about Judge Wiram, mostly because the name is not very common, but I have found no connection so far. Stephen's brother was an Ephraim, too, but born in Vermont and lived in Grant Co., WI for most of his life. I think the judge was born in NY and lived in Crawford Co. If you find out anything more, please let me know!
