    3. Mabel Firefighters rescue trapped driver A U.S. Marine from Huguenot was arrested for drunken driving Thursday night after a car crash on County Road 42. Jeffrey Anesh, 20, drove his 1991 Saturn off the road and slammed into the stone pillars of an old, abandoned boarding house just past Glen Spey Corners, State Police Trooper Keith Hocker said. The car caught fire with Anesh pinned in the wreck. A passenger in the car, Russell Nason, 17, of Port Jervis wandered around the wreck in a daze. Roger Bisland, a Lumberland firefighter, was driving past when he saw the fire. He jumped out of his car and doused the flames with a fire extinguisher. The Lumberland Fire Department arrived at the scene and ripped the roof and driver-side door off the car to free Anesh, Lumberland Deputy Chief Jake Knibbs said. Anesh was taken by the Lumberland Volunteer Ambulance to Mercy Community Hospital in Port Jervis, where he was treated for a broken ankle and released. Nason, who complained of chest pain and soreness was treated and released from Mercy Community Hospital. Four 40-ounce bottles of Silver Thunder beer were found scattered around the wreck, Hocker said. Three were full, one was empty. Anesh's blood alcohol content was more than .20 – twice the legal limit. He was arrested and charged with misdemeanor driving while intoxicated. He has a Tuesday night court date in the Town of Lumberland.
