Alan, I hit the jackpot. I have now found my Charles Knibbs. I received an email from Janet at the Public Services & Systems Co-ordinator in Owen Sound Ontario with all the information. Remember I had found a buriel transcription a couple of weeks ago but did not have a date of death butr had his age. Because there was no date it was a shot in the dark to see if it was my Charles. Janet is going to mail me a copy of the newspaper account. Below is the newspaper transcript. Found in the Owen Sound Times 22 October 1891 p 5 Drowned Word was received Saturday that Chas Knibbs, who worked in the freight sheds until a week ago Tuesday, and who belonged to the Salvation Army here was drowned near Little Current. From the Manitoulin Explorer we learn that he was knocked into the water by the boom of the Schooner Annie. He leaves a wife and a child two months old. He was 21 years of age. The body has not been recovered. We have a picture of a couple marked Charles & his wife but thought this was an error (we did not know who wrote the name on the pic). I guess now we have to find a wife and a child. Hi wife was probably remarried. Joyce
