Don Per the GRO, she died as Ellen and looking at Freebmd for 03qtr1853 there is an Ellen in the Woodstock District which covers Wootton. Ellen sometimes called Helen? bfn Alan > I have mixed findings for Ellen/Helen. Alan, I now have copies of all the certificates that Diane has. It shows Ellen was indeed registered as Ellen DRINKWATER. She was born on 20 Aug 1852 at Wootton, the daughter of Robert DRINKWATER and Leah DRINKWATER (formerly FRANKLIN). However, her marriage certificate has her as Helen DRINKWATER. She married William KNIBBS on 16 August 1879. William's trade was given at that time as Glover. Their daughter Sarah Ann was born on 11 Sep 1879 at Woodstock, so pretty soon after the wedding.. William gave his occupation at that time as Glove Ironer. Sarah Ann KNIBBS' husband Alfred LONGWORTH was born on 2 Dec 1877 at 16 Culvert St, Manchester, England. He was the son of William LONGWORTH (a Plumber by trade) and his wife Emily LONGWORTH (formerly GAYTHORP) Sarah Ann KNIBBS and Alfred LONGWORTH had a daughter Elsie Maud LONGWORTH who was born on 9 May 1905 in Woodstock, Oxfordshire. Alfred gave his occupation as Mechanical Engineer. Elsie Maude was the mother of Diane Shartland who shared all of this information with me.
