I'm not sure if this is new or if I just now stumbled on it. In any case, http://aad.archives.gov/aad/title_list.jsp is the (US) National Archives "Access to Archival Databases" site. I haven't spent much time with it yet, but would suggest this for this weekend: From the "Subject" pull-down list, select "World War 1939-1945" (last item on the list. Then click on the second item in the list, "World War II Electronic Army Serial Number Merged File, 6/1/2002 - 9/30/2002" On that screen, click the "select" button. This takes you to a screen with two "select" buttons. Click on the first. Now you're finally at the search screen. Type your surname of interest in the name category, and away you go... This is only a list of Army records. I'm not sure if it includes the Army Air Corps. I wonder if they'll do something similar for Navy records? -- *Marsha L.
