From South Devon Herald Express - Torquay, England, UK SCOUTS JOIN IN BIG SLEEP RECORD BID BY NAOMI TOLLEY 11:00 - 07 July 2004 Dozens of Cubs and Scouts from Torbay slept out in Watcombe in an attempt to smash a world record. The First Aid Giant Sleepover event saw more than 130 Torbay youngsters camping out for two nights on Easterfield Lane. The aim was to raise crucial funds for their group while learning essential first aid skills. Everyone who took part in the event gained their first response badge. The Torbay Scouts spent two evenings around a huge campfire and Gaynor Knibbs, from Sainsbury's at The Willows, Torquay, joined them to draw a raffle. The event was sponsored by Sainsbury's Blue Parrott Cafe, Tony's Rummikub Games, Dairy Crest Lil' Moos Organic Cheese, Aerobeds, Top Trumps Roald Dahl Games, and Capri Sun.
