    1. [K/NIBB/S] US Census Images
    2. Found this explanation while poking around ancestry.com: Ancestry.com has posted all the images for the 1790 through 1920 censuses (for a complete list of counties use our browse feature). These records contain more than 425 million names, are easy to read, and represent the most important and sought-after group of genealogical records in the United States. This information allows researchers to determine family structure, age, residence, occupation, and much more. Ancestry.com has also posted searchable indexes of the heads of household for the 1790, 1800, 1810, 1820, 1830, and 1840 censuses. These indexes are linked to the corresponding census images. Images for other census years are browseable by state, county and township/enumeration district. Additional head-of-household indexes are added to this exciting and growing collection on a weekly basis. Which means that my subscription will allow me to easily look up anyone in the 1840 and earlier censuses. Unfortunately, all they recorded then was the number of males & females in age categories, with only the head of household named. If there's a name you'd like to have looked up, let me know... I'll let the list know when the latter indices are posted. (Myself, I'm very interested in the 1860 and later; my Westerholds arrived in 1857.) -- *Marsha L.
