    1. [K/NIBB/S] Happy New Year !
    2. A bit early, I know, but this to whet your appetite for research. The 1901 Census returns for England and Wales will be released over the Internet at 9am on Wednesday 2 January 2002 (at www.census.pro.gov.uk). But first much to report this week, so here goes. That George Langford NIBBS Will was a great disappointment, telling me virtually nothing new. Graham NIBBS will be disappointed but we are exchanging info re some ofhis related NIBBS. Darron KNIBBS has sent me a gedcom of his 'Cardiff' KNIBBS with over 50 names new to the database. He is related to Beverley SMITH and Pat WALKER and no doubt they'll soon be pooling their info together for the benefit of each. A friend in France received some K/NIBB/S info from a lady in Canada re K/NIBB/S in Northamptonshire. It's a small world. Two of the entries were new and have helped Joyce FISCHER and Don KNIBBS. Moral - get your friends to start searching for K/NIBB/S. Remember I mentioned some George KNIBBS marriages in the Brackley District? A certificate purchased on behalf of Jim SAWYER was the wrong one but fits into a branch of Joyce's family. Another that I had discounted on the basis of one of those queries addressed to lister Richard KNIBBS has been validated. George KNIBBS who married Hannah NIND, married not once but twice after her untimely death. The second marriage it turns out was very short because Sarah nee ALLEN also died young, within a year in fact. Brian ALLEN a descendant of her brother provided the confirmation to my conjecture. This George I reckon died in 1934 Ploughley District and as a result of our correspondence I did some checking and noted that this District grew inter alia out of Bicester and Brackley. Go to http://www.genuki.co.uk and search there for a District that you want to check. Rose-Marie also sent me some Northants K/NIBB/S from that county's personal namebase which it turns out is prepared by the cousin of the lady in Canada that I mentioned above. Very small world! I also received a message of gobbledegook, as I called it, from Rose-Marie and you may have done also as a virus has got into her computer it seems. A Badtrans virus is rampant at present and, if nobody's warned you already, let me say look out for any messages starting with an underscore. On no account open any attachment to such a message. We've also had postings from Stuart, Dorothy and Don to add to our sum of K/NIBB/S knowledge. A warden at Uvas Park in the Santa Clara County Park has told me that Nibbs Knob is named after a Henry NIBB who homesteaded nearby. He has even offered to delve further if time permits as he welcomes such enquiries which 'add to the knowledge of visitors to the park'. Moral - be as cheeky as me and who knows what more we'll discover! At the risk of boring you re that other Henry, Henry KNIBBS, a newly found descendant has been helping me by adding more than a score of individuals from his tree. A researcher in Ontario has also sent me some information about his family who I believe is related. One marriage has his KNIBBS as NIPPS which might explain why we can't find him in England but also may just be a transcription error. More investigation taking place. Meanwhile, Alex told me how his slim-built great uncle Arthur was awarded the George Cross for tunnelling underneath the wreckage of a Birmingham house hit by a bomb. He brought two girls out to safety and years later they made contact with the family. Any other similar K/NIBB/S exploits? bfn Alan [WHO?] - yes Brian, I do have a sense of humour but sometimes I'm slow off the mark!
