Finally -- I have something to add -- but not much. I just returned from 7 1/2 hours of looking at microfilm and old books at the Wisconsin State Historical Society. I still haven't located the marriage record of John Knibbs (in case you don't remember, John is the brother of Ann Knibbs Brashier -- my gggrandmother and their father was also John Knibbs)-- so I don't have much more information about him...but the census indices were helpful: No Knibbs in the 1850 census index. In the 1860 WI Census for Dodgeville, Iowa County, WI John Knibbs -- age 34, minister Methodist Church, $1,000 worth of land and $250 in personal property, born in England Amelia Knibbs -- age 23, born in Illinois Mary Catherine -- age 1, born in WI and in the1870 Census for Platteville, Grant County, WI found: John Knibbs -- age 42, ME Minister, no land, $400 personal property, born in England, both parents foreign born (interesting that Rev. Knibbs aged only 8 years in the past 10 -- and lost all his real estate.) Amelia Knibbs -- Age 32, housekeeper, born in Illinois of non-foreign parents Katie Knibbs -- age 11, born in WI Nettie Knibbs -- age 7, born in WI ( have oral history from my mother's cousin that my g-grandmother Alice Amelia Brashier McCartney Frye -- used to correspond with Nettie -- or Nellie Knibbs in North Dakota.) Hattie Knibbs -- age 1, born in WI I also found some Knibbs in the Wisconsin 1860 Census index that I do not have a connection to that I can find... Anna Knibbs -- Village of Two Rivers, Manitowoc County George J.
