I've just been busy adding more data to my Unplaced K/NIBB/S web pages. By "Unplaced K/NIBB/S" I mean K/NIBB/S individuals I've come across in my research, but with no apparent connection into my own particular line of Knibbs. The purpose of the Unplaced K/NIBB/S web page is to share this information with everyone in the hope that someone else can lay claim to them. All of the information has come from the various Parish Registers of the Parishes frequented by my ancestors, so I have good documentation to support it. The data I've added today comes from the Parish Registers for Oxford All Saints, and Woodstock, Oxfordshire. Previous data is from all the other Parish Register transcripts that I have. I've struggled to think of how best to present the data and have come up with several variations which I hope will satisfy the various angles that people may wish to view it.There are five different ways in which it can be viewed: 1. By Location - a list of events (births, baptisms, marriages, baptisms) indexed by the location in which they occurred. 2. By Date - a list of events (births, baptisms, marriages, baptisms) indexed by the year/date on which they occurred. 3. By Occupation - if you know the trade followed by you ancestors, it's sometimes useful to look for others in the same trade. 4. By Name - an alphabetical list indexed by Surname/Christian name of everyone in the Unplaced K/NIBB/S database 5. By Surname - often useful if you know the surname of a spouse. Each event listed in any of the above has a hyperlink back to a family file to show any connected siblings, parents, or children. To access the data, go to my index page at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~knibbs/ and click on "? NOT My Knibbs - Who are they?". This will take you to a new Index page offering the five options described above. If anyone can think of a way to make the data more useful, or a better way to present it, please let me know. Also, if anyone lays claim to anyone listed on the Unplaced K/NIBB/S pages, I'd also welcome a quick email. Thanks! Don
Don-- I think my Knibbs are in your "Not my Knibbs" section...I just looked to see what you had. First I checked "saddler" and the John Knibbs there is not the right one. They I tried just the index to names and checked John Knibbs -- he has a daughter Ann born before01 May 1829 (my Ann was born 22 Mar 1829) and a son John (who I had pegged between 1826 and 1829 from other references I have to him). You may not remember, but Alan helped me get the marriage certificate of Ann Knibbs and George Brashier. The marriage certificate was from Lambeth and listed Ann's father as John Knibbs - Harness Maker. That was 15 Sep 1856. To add to your information...Ann died 04 Dec 1804 in Seneca Township, Crawford Co., WI. I have quite a lot of information about her and her children. Her brother John came to WI and was married in 1858. He was a circuit rider Methodist Minister. Lots of interesting information about him too -- and he had 3 daughters -- but I have found nothing of the daughters -- except that one of them lived in North Dakota and Ann's daughter (my g-g-grandmother) corresponded with her up to g-ma's death) Would you like the information I have? I'm very excited. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Don Knibbs" <[email protected]> > I've just been busy adding more data to my Unplaced K/NIBB/S web pages.
