For anyone who's interested, I've been contacted by Carol Van Harn, a direct descendant on James WAITE's sister Martha. Whilst I concentrate on just the KNIBBS name, in the case of females of the line, I try to establish the names of any children that they may have had. James WAITE and Dinah KNIBBS were married at Swerford but I suspect that they moved to South Newington, Oxfordshire which was James' home village. Carol tells me that James and Dinah had just one child, Joseph Frederick WAITE, born April 1866 and died May 1866. Dinah, we know died in 1869 aged just 23 years and was buried at Swerford. Further off the Knibbs track but connected nevertheless, James Waite's father Richard and several of his brothers and sisters all emigrated to Canada in about 1858. His oldest brother George was a farmer at Port Talbot before moving to St. Thomas, Ontario, where he died aged 71 years in 1903. James Waite was apparently one of 22 children! Don
