At my most recent visit to the Northamptonshire County Record Office, I found a copy of some verses written by a sister of the missionary Thomas KNIBB, William's elder brother. They are very poignant and worthy of inclusion on the website. Coincidentally with Richard KNIBBS posting of the Buckinghamshire K/NIBB/S on the Posse Comitatus, I also found at the Northants CRO a Return of Enrolment 1803 which mentions their father. It appears his name had come up in a Militia List ballot but he succeeded in finding a substitute to go in his place, whom he doubtless had to pay.
