It is possible to attach an image to a message posted on a rootsweb message board, but in this case that would mean checking four boards. The cheapest myfamily site is $29.95 (US) per year for a site with 100mb of storage for image, sound, and text files. Essentially unlimited storage of gedcoms (displayed with their rather funky program), family recipes, and such. The more storage you want, the higher the annual price, up to $209.75 for a site with 905mb. There are also yahoo groups - sponsored by yahoo.com, that allow storage of up to 30 mb for free. Info posted to the rootsweb message boards can be found by search engines. The myfamily option and the yahoo groups require membership in order to view any contents. Joyce Yippee! I hope that's not premature but the website below mentions Mary E HANINGTON's death 1st November 1966 - P19. I do believe she could be Charlotte Mary E HANINGTON nee WILLANS, a great granddaughter of William KNIBB. Re the dates, I see there is a notice that those given refer to the newspaper entry rather than the actual date of an event. Perhaps this explains some inconsistencies. The Library offer a look up service and will supply photocopies at a set price. I shall explore this further but can I be cheeky and ask if you know of anyone in the vicinity? Tomorow, I'll check out the listed K/NIBB/S on the site with the database. bfn Alan > As I was browsing I found an index of the above at the following web > site. Another entry, on pages 145 and 146 ... NIBBS, Richard Ship: Parkfield Year of arrival: 1839 Ticket date: 11 December 1844 Ticket number: 44/2983 Occupation: Gardiner In whose service: Dr. John Hunter, Lodden River Take care, Rob. Ooops!! Forgot to mention I saved copies of the images if anyone wants them! :D IBSSG Stuttgart, Germany Honey's Home of Genealogy www.honeyshome.com
Hi everyone :) I'm just surfing through the PROV Online Records and came across this entry ... Applications for Tickets of Leave Name: Rich Nibbs Ship: Parkfield Year: 1839 When Forwarded: July 1844 Whose Service: DC Simson (I think!) Sentence: 10 years Granted That was on pages 83 and 84 of the Register of Convicts, last entry. As far as I'm aware I don't have any Victorian Nibbs in my tree (correct me if I'm wrong! ;D) but thought someone on the list may have use of this. The URL to access the pages is ... http://www.prov.vic.gov.au/archivesvictoria/recordimages/00110/00110-P00001-index.html Take care, Rob. Rob > I've finished surfing through the PROV pages and I've now got 8 jpeg images > saved to my hard drive if anyone wants them. Just let me know and I'll send > them along! How can I refuse, especially as I can't 'place' him on the info that you already posted. As we can't display images on the mailing list, I did wonder if, for items such as this, listers could upload images to the internet that anyone could view for a period, rather like Marsha's Myfamily.com site. Looking at that, I see that a unique Myfamily.com site can be set up for a limited duration for free and there are two other permanent options on a subscription basis. Are there other alternatives known to anyone? If not, and someone has not used up the free webspace afforded by their service provider, an alternative might be to use that, assuming a password could be made available and that listers could then upload to the webiste direct, rather than having to send to the host which would rather defest the object of the exercise. bfn Alan
Alan: As I was browsing I found an index of the above at the following web site. I noted thatr some of the dates are different than I have. But I also note there are other Knibbs's that I can not place. the web site is http://www.brantford.library.on.ca/librarysearch.asp bfn Joyce

Alan: I found the following two death records; Annie Knibbs died Jan 23, 1919 at Winnipeg, Manitoba aged 2 ref # 1919-005302 Jennie Jessie Knibbs died July 11, 1917 Winnipeg, Manitoba aged 35 yrs ref # 1917-041087 bfn Joyce
I have just found a splendid site which has transcripts of Dorset (England) parish registers, census returns and much else. Not much good for '(K)Nibb(s)' research as they are not thick on the ground in that area but might be valuable for reseach into other lines _www.dorset-opc,com/_ (http://www.dorset-opc,com/) . Robin
