    1. [K/NIBB/S] Family
    2. That was lovely. It must be awfully hard on all involved, but it seems that contact is what they all wanted. And got,...thanks to you and your wonderful efforts. One of our Knibbs especially was very grateful for the information you, Don and I could find on his family. His parents died when he was 12 and he did not know much about either of them. His father was a Knibbs. He has some half sisters he heard about, and their names have been found. Although he still wishes to make contact (difficult to find them due to them marrying and moving), he feels a little more like he 'belongs'. Thanks to everyone who adds in their bits to create a rather large jigsaw puzzle. Natascha Hartlett

    1. [K/NIBB/S] Star of the week.....
    2. ...... is Sioux FENNESSY. She has sent me the 1999/2000 KNIBB/S GRO entries for all births marriage and deaths recorded at The Family Records Centre in London. A fair amount of copying, I can tell you, which then all had to be typed out by her. They are now finding their way into the database to be linked up with their respective families. So many many 'public' thanks. Not that each one of you isn't a star in one way or another as I do value everyone's input, be it small or large. Let's face it, someone with only a minor K/NIBB/S connection will doubtless be concentrating on their 'other' lines but as and when a K/NIBB/S is espied and passed on during research, another piece of the great jigsaw can be slotted into place. I can boast great satisfaction from my involvement and what follows has touched me greatly. No names on this one as will become clear on reading - and I've blanked a couple of personal and private items also. ''I can't thank you enough. XXX and I have exchanged three long e-mails since receiving [your] e-mail yesterday morning. He has some very [---] memories, although he couldn't have been more than 4 when his parents separated, and he was 6 at the time of the adoption. He feels his [---] abandoned him, and of course, I will work on that - And hopefully sometime in the future, we will get a chance to meet him and his family. My kids are crying tears of joy that their half brother has finally contacted us. They have known about him all their life. XXX did confirm my belief that it was better to let the initial contact come from him. I will let you know what progresses, and thank you again - and all because of your research and your wonderful website. Thank you. XXX :-) '' bfn Alan PS Ever the one to milk it, could the next FRC visitor spare some time to copy the NIBBS bmds? They will be far fewer than the KNIBB/S but in different books which is why Sioux couldn't include them.

    1. [K/NIBB/S] FreeBMD update
    2. FreeBMD England and Wales has just completed a long-awaited update. 3 million additional records were added in the last month...maybe some extra Knibbs there. The site does say they are only covering records from 1837 to 1901. (I'm busy transcribing 1902, but this may be in anticipation of 100 years being up soon). They may be transcibing ahead of time to "catch up" on information. I'll see what I can find out from the transcription syndicate. Natascha Hartlett

    2. Unbeknownst to me, a black and white photograph of our clock appeared in The Financial Times last Saturday. Apparently, the Editor of the Horological Magazine recently called in to the Knaresborough showroom of the clockmaker and saw it there. He was writing an article for a Supplement in the paper and decided to include it. I do now have some colour photos if anyone would like a copy. bfn Alan

    2. Her death is announced in today's Daily Telegraph aged 88, a beloved mother and grandmother, with a contact telephone number at Truro re funeral. UK info 4 gave a Stuart V KNIBBS and Norah M at Wimborne, Dorset, so presumably her but not known as related to any researcher. bfn Alan

    1. Re: [K/NIBB/S] From 1891
    2. Don Once again thanx for this. I had been given Allen rather than Albert from a transcription of the 1891 Birmingham census. I now see his birth as Albert Edward and have his marriage and subsequent death in 1945. You'll see from Birth list that Victor died in 1910. FreeBMD gives us Jessie TITMUS for marriage 01qtr1886 and birth 03qtr 1862 Birmingham District. The 1881 census gave Turweston as Edward's birthplace which is where his parents married. His father though came from Whitfield where he links into the other KNIBBS born there. bfn Alan > The following was passed on to me by a colleague - again, probably nothing > new but passed on just in case! > > Don > > rg12/2418 1+ f23 p39 > > 96 Dollman St > > Edward KNIBBS,h,m,m,28,railway carman, NTH, Whitfield > Jessie,w,m,f,28,WAR, Birmingham > Albert,s,s,m,4,WAR,Birmingham > Victor,s,s,m,1,WAR,Birmingham >

    2. The Rush Family
    3. Hiya, I was wondering if anyone had the marriage info for Frank Nibbs b 1917. I thought he married Ethel Dyson but I found an old email from a cousin asking me about his mother side being the Larkin family. I was hoping someone could set me straight about this. Thanks! Bridget
