    2. Laurie Thank you for this. Any relation to you? I see the Fire Chief comes from Lumberland, which I take it is in Sullivan Co New York. By coincidence (or is it?), William and Ana mentioned in the Stillwater report are related to the Inventor and 'Fireman Extraordinary' James KNIBBS from Troy Co New York. bfn Alan

    3. Mabel Firefighters rescue trapped driver A U.S. Marine from Huguenot was arrested for drunken driving Thursday night after a car crash on County Road 42. Jeffrey Anesh, 20, drove his 1991 Saturn off the road and slammed into the stone pillars of an old, abandoned boarding house just past Glen Spey Corners, State Police Trooper Keith Hocker said. The car caught fire with Anesh pinned in the wreck. A passenger in the car, Russell Nason, 17, of Port Jervis wandered around the wreck in a daze. Roger Bisland, a Lumberland firefighter, was driving past when he saw the fire. He jumped out of his car and doused the flames with a fire extinguisher. The Lumberland Fire Department arrived at the scene and ripped the roof and driver-side door off the car to free Anesh, Lumberland Deputy Chief Jake Knibbs said. Anesh was taken by the Lumberland Volunteer Ambulance to Mercy Community Hospital in Port Jervis, where he was treated for a broken ankle and released. Nason, who complained of chest pain and soreness was treated and released from Mercy Community Hospital. Four 40-ounce bottles of Silver Thunder beer were found scattered around the wreck, Hocker said. Three were full, one was empty. Anesh's blood alcohol content was more than .20 – twice the legal limit. He was arrested and charged with misdemeanor driving while intoxicated. He has a Tuesday night court date in the Town of Lumberland.

    3. Alan Mary Knibb/Pargeter died 5 November 1885, Cropredy. Husband William Pargeter, parents Thomas Pargeter and Mary Claridge, was born 22 February 1809 and died 3 April 1875, also in Cropredy. Do you have any data re the Knibb/s families from Avon/Burton Dassett? I was wondering if Thomas, born 28 October 1755 was the son of Thomas Knibb from Harbury, Warks? Thanks Anthea -----Original Message----- From: Jackari2@aol.com [mailto:Jackari2@aol.com] Sent: 13 April 2004 21:27 To: anthgreenaway@btopenworld.com Subject: Re: Mary KNIBB Anthea I think you told me that you thought that Mary was born in Burton Dassett of Thomas Knibb and Hannah Savage. The IGI certainly seems to bear this out. Looking at the A2A site, there appears to be a large number of Knibb families around that area. Ah yes, I remember the Cropedy additions. I have Avon Dassett for Mary which I suspect was given as her residence at marriage. There is a Mary Ann KNIB from Burton Dassett daughter of the two you've named. Does the Ann appear in any later records after her marriage to William PARGETER? Do you have his dates and any burial dates for the pair of them? I'll report on list in any event. bfn Alan

    3. Alan, The witnesses names are very hard to read. I think one of them is Michael M.Moore and the other is James ?? I could not read Michael's last name, however now that you have indicated Moore as a last name for the bride, it really appears that the witnesses last name is also Moore. 3. Hi everyone: I was at the library today going through film I had ordered to look up information on my grandmothers side of the family when I came across a Knibbs marriage. There is not a lot of information. Archives of Ontario film MS 248 reel 3 Home District Registration, Marriage registers Newcastle District, Durham County, Ontario. Vol 17 Page 38 (the page is actually 37 because there is no 38 listed, however there are two 37's) The entry is very hard to read but here goes. Henry Knibbs married Nora (?) Rosseah (?) by licence January 5, 1842. There are two witnesses. As you can see there is not a lot of info. Joyce

Hi Alan :) I've never worked in a bakery before but I have a breadmaker, does that count?!? ;D Oh, and I've worked in a fish and chip shop, as a grape picker, wine bottler, and a total of 12 years as a Legal Secretary. Anthea Greenaway contacted Don KNIBBS the other day asking if he had any information on Mary KNIBB who married William PARGETER in Cropredy in 1831. They had 10 children and seemingly Mary was baptised on 23 July 1809 at Burton Dassett and died at Cropredy 5 November 1885. Anyone else related? Anthea has joined the Mailing List so will be reading this. She can also see her name amongst the K/NIBB/S Researchers at the website which I've just updated. Following the links from What's New/Latest you'll see that we also have a new member in Chris ATKINS, nee NIBBS. Her Easter was spent feeding me information about her NIBBS family from which we found the link to artist Richard Henry NIBBS. Fortunately, this coincided with Reg MAYHALL giving me a new url for his website which mentions one or two facts about the artist. These can be viewed from the link on the entry for Richard Henry NIBBS. Marsha has told me that the What's New link doesn't work in Netscape so I must correct that. Has anyone noticed anything else amiss? Meanwhile thanks to her for the Veterans Nationwide Grave locator. One KNIBB, two KNIBBS and six NIBBS on my search. I located Chris via Genesconnected and am chasing up other new contacts there in the hope that I can link more families together and recruit new active members for the Mailing List. Membership currently numbers 76. Don also tells me about Margaret Bland who is a descendant of the Warman family; the Alfred Warman who married Mary KNIBBS at Woodstock on 19 July 1857. He was the son of Edward and Mary Warman and was baptised at Brize Norton on 23 March 1828. Don already knew from census details that he was from Brize Norton and that he was a journeyman baker so he must be one and the the same. So once again 'grist to my mill' in more senses than one :-) I did once work in a bakery after being expelled from school. That's another story but has anyone else achieved that distinction or know of a K/NIBB/S who did? Incidentally, the foreman in the bakery told me that I 'kneaded dough badly' - well I like to say that and the sound of it was very true at the time! bfn Alan Alan Jackson Host at The K/NIBB/S One Name Study & Mailing List Website address http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~knibbetc Did you know? 1. A Miller's tale .....
    2. ....but first a couple of things to pass on. 1. National Cemetery search engine
    2. Marsha Ensminger
    3. It's now possible to search the (United States) National Cemeteries online (most of them, anyway. There's a list of exceptions). http://gravelocator.cem.va.gov/j2ee/servlet/NGL_v1 It's not clear how far back the records go; earlier than WW II at any rate.
