The Grand Rapids Press Jan. 1, 1946 Fall Proves Fatal To Amarilla Knapp Mrs. Amarilla Knapp, 97, who for 25 years made her home with a daughter, Mrs. Emma Wright, 1826 Horton-av., S.E., died Thursday as a result of a fall in which she suffered a leg fracture two weeks ago. Mrs. Knapp died at the home of another daughter, Mrs. Tura Lorimer, 1131 Lafayette-av., S.E., with whom she had been living since Christmas. Born in Ontario, Mrs. Knapp moved to this country in 1893 when she settled on a farm near Coopersville. She moved to Grand Rapids after the death of her husband, Jacob, in 1920. Mrs. Knapp was a member of Burton Heights Methodist church. Surving besides Mrs. Wright and Mrs. Lorimer is another daughter, Mrs. Rex Meek of Tacoma, Wash; three sons, George of Grand Rapids, Benjamin of Cleveland, and Foss S. Knapp of Seattle, Wash., and nine grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. in the Sullivan Chapel. Rev. Ray Prescott will officate. Burial will be in Greenville cemetery.
